My DW and I have worked very hard at internet sales for almost as long as the internet has been in existence. We sell a vintage product on line. I prefer not to say what. Some have done it few have made it work. We are the fortunate ones. Technology has finally caught up for us and we have not made the full time move yet as our son is still in College and living at home. However we can do the same thing on the road now as we have been doing at home for several years. We sell vintage items that we buy at garage and estate sales and we advertise to purchase items on Craigs list as well. We have people bring these items to us and we go garage saleing on weekends. This summer we spent two months on the road from Oregon to Maine to Georgia and back home. We made the same money while on the road as we do at home. Not getting rich but are paying bills. While on the road this summer we did garage sales and estate sales whereever we went on Fridays and Saturdays. We shipped items from the closest post office on Mondays and Thursdays. We listed our new items going down the road thanks to Verizon Air Cards and We have done the same thing from home. We are sitting at a table in the utility room now side by side with a verizon air card and cradlepoint router. We know our inventory and take it with us on the road. We have something that is lightweight and easily shipped. Our slow time is summer when people are out playing but this summer we made enough to pay our bills on the road buy fuel and stayed mostly at campgrounds every night. Paid our small mortgage at home and cooked most of our own meals on the road. We found we can easily live on the road even if we have to pay our home mortgage while gone. But we have a clientelle already as we have been doing the same thing for many years. I believe this is what your original post was getting at. It can be done but it takes a lot of time and work. Nothin better than to make a hundred or 200 bucks daily while going down the road. Living the dream. We cannot wait til our son gets out of school. Next summer we will move 75 miles west in our Motorhome for all summer living at the best place in the world. The Oregon Coast.(PS) do not try anything like this on E-Bay it most likely will not work. There are lots of other venues and online malls out there that can work for you.
