Posted : Tuesday Nov 3, 2009 15:49:17 EST Anyone visiting national parks, refuges and other public recreation areas on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, will pay no entrance fees, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced today. Those areas include any public recreation lands managed by the National Park Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management and Bureau of Reclamation. The fee is waived for everyone, but the purpose is to thank and honor service members on Veterans Day, Salazar said. “We invite all of our visitors to enjoy this fee-free day and take time out on this national holiday to remember our service men and women who are currently serving overseas in harm’s way,” Salazar said in a statement. The Department of Agriculture is also waiving entrance fees at its national forests. http://www.armytimes.com/news/2009/11/mili...ksfree_110309w/ -------------------- Ron & Laine
