We are headed to Moab next weekend for the upcoming Jeep Jamboree. It appears that most of their events are on the north end of town, so we are looking for recommendations for RV parks there. We have stayed at Spanish Trail RV Park in the past, and really like it, but would like to stay around the action if possible (and it lessens the chance of us being late to the early morning calls
From RV Park Reviews, Riverside Oasis Campground looks pretty good, but we would appreciate any first hand information from Escapees. Any other Escapees attending this event? I have not been to one but have heard great things about the event. Thanks! kevin -------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We are at Big Bend a BLM campground on Hwy 128 about 8 miles off Hwy 191 right on the Colorado River. No services, but the price is right. Slickrock Campground was recommended to us as a family campground. It is on the north end of town. We stopped in to check on dumping on our way out of Moab, $5.00 for dump and fresh water. Seemed like a friendly place. They are on the north end of town. You might also check out Arch View Campground and resort, about 15 minutes north of Moab.

Pat and Al Thanks for the recommendations Pat and Al. We ended up looking into Arch View Campground and made reservations for the week. Some of the activities for the Jeep Jamboree are at the Chuckwagon restaurant down the street from there, so it will work out well. Thanks again for your reply! kevin -------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

For future reference, there is Portal Rv park that is on the north side of Moab on Hwy. 191 which has always proven to be reasonable.

We did Poison Spider and Hell's Revenge. We recommend the Jeep Jamboree to anyone with a Jeep. We stayed at the Moab Valley RV Park; expensive and the personel were not interested in being very helpful, we will try Portal next year. |

Sorry I missed this posting earlier. We were at the Jamboree too. We did Poison Spider and Hell's Revenge. We recommend the Jeep Jamboree to anyone with a Jeep. We stayed at the Moab Valley RV Park; expensive and the personel were not interested in being very helpful, we will try Portal next year. I am sure we can meet up at the next one here! We had a great time too. In fact, we haven't left Moab yet We liked staying at Arch View RV park for the Jamboree, as it was very convenient to the Bar M restaurant, where all of the activities originated. We are not normally early risers, so we figured we needed to be as close as possible. It worked out very well - it is a good park, easy access to several trail heads, and a beautiful view. It closed at the end of October, and we wanted to be closer town, so we moved to Portal RV Resort, where we are currently. Portal is awesome! They had a very reasonable monthly rate, which convinced us to stay a month instead of two more weeks. It is close to town, but still far enough out so that it is quiet. The staff here is great. We will come back to this park again. We went to the Pumpkin Chuckin Festival on Halloween - it was a blast! Also been hitting some trails as we are able to, and hiking, and hanging out around town. Really like it here, and hope that the weather holds out a bit longer. Thanks again for the suggestions!! kevin -------------------- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We go to Moab every year. Worked at Arches for a time, too. Portal is our Park of choice when we are not boondocking. Even with the changes to the park in the last 2-3 years it is still the nicest in town, IMO. The staff is friendly, the location is good. There is room for "big rigs" if you tell them ahead of time. None of the parks in Moab are cheap.
