We've not sold the house yet, but we're going to Q in Jan. anyway. It's just to hard to sit here and read about everybody having fun! We will have more fun if the house goes soon, but think we can do this for a little while. Hope to learn lots about boondocking in order to extend our stay as long as possible. Would we still be in class of '09 , I guess? Maybe we can pre-burn our fake mortgage. biggrin.gif

Jerry & Janice - definitely part of the Class of 2009. We ended up renting our house because I couldn't stand it any longer. We aren't really going to burn mortgage papers (unless people really want to) but I'm going to have some "substitute" ones for everybody to burn. So I'm going to put you guys down as a yes. Look for the colored leis. It's going to be so much fun I can hardly wait.

Hi all...Just a quick note to all of those we have met or will meet down the road.
Lee and I managed to get away for a couple of weeks. (Ocean City, Maryland) We only moved about 50 miles from my parents, but it feels so good to be out and on our own again. Even though we have sat here during the rains and floods of Ida! So great to get back in our HOME. Tomorrow we will head back and close up the rig until March. We will spend a couple of months in an apartment as we become first time grandparents. We are so envious of all of you out on the road...but we will be with you in a few months.
take care and travel safely.

Hey Sandie and Jim,
Hows the fishing? Come March we are going south, then west as far as San Antonio before heading north to the Dakotas and then over to Wyoming and Montana. Then turning south to Arizona for the winter. Will you be in Billings this next summer?
turtle safely,

We'll be in Monntana next summer - just not sure if it'll be Billings. We have to spend some time in Billings to finish up the lawn on the rental and make sure the house is still standing. But we don't want to spend much time there. Rather be in western MT. So we will definitely see you there.

Okay I just need to brag a little bit. I actually rode my bike today. Now for most people that probably isn't an accomplishment but I have not ridden since I was a child, a zillion years ago. Then last year after breaking my ankle and rupturing my achilles tendon, I was scared to death to get on a bike. But Jim had a lot of faith in me and had bought me a bike that he has hauled around with us forever. So today, I did it. I didn't go far but I didn't fall and tomorrow I'll go further. It felt really good to conquer that beast in my life.

good job Sandie, it isn't how far you went on that first ride but the fact that you did the first ride. It is a great feeling when you can "overcome the beast"! By the time you get to Q you will be able to ride into town.

Thanks Linda - and let's not get too carried away Eric. If town is maybe 1/4 mile I might make it. My legs let me know all night that they had done something they weren't used to.

Cheryl - and more Canadians have joined us since you guys pulled out. We tried the breakfast yesterday and it was okay but really tough when you can't talk to anybody sitting around you.

As for me riding - I should be wearing a big bell to warn them to get out of my way. My control is not great. But I went all the way around one circle today. Tomorrow - maybe a circle and a half.

Did you guys get all the work done on the Bird?

Sandie,

Bill makes a mean pot of chili. Count him in for the cook off.

I've got Bill down for chili. Wonder if I can talk Jim into making some. I usually make it but it might be more fun to have him do it. We're at the Wandering Oaks RV Park in Ocala, FL tonight. Had to give up our service bay. But the work isn't done so back in on Monday it goes. The campground had a turkey potluck today which was really great.

Had to make a run to the animal emergency hospital this afternoon. Somethng bit Skittlez and her head swelled up about 3 times its size and was covered with hives. But she's pretty good tonight. On benadryl for three days and hopefully that will be it.

Hopefully we'll meet up with Tina & Woody tomorrow. For those of you in Sedalia they are the ones who introduced me to Escapees and went to dinner with us. Then Tuesday morning we'll head out moving towards Arizona.

We are leaving Livingston (after being here a month) and heading to Stonewall, TX in the Hill Country for a couple of weeks. have had a great time seeing my kids--I will miss dropping in on them a couple times a week. But, am excited to see some new places and not just do "relative" stuff.

Loralie, since you are heading towards San Antonio it sounds like you may be there by the first part of April. If so be sure and find out when the Strawberry Festival is in April. It is a neat festival and very big. The best part is the top notch all day rodeo that has every event in it. It is one of the best we have been to! If you like rodeos you will enjoy this festival.
