jkennell
"Jeff-C, the trapezoid piece is very close to 10 square feet. 1/4 inch plate weighs 11.25 lb per square foot, so you have 112.5 pounds before you calculate the "lightening holes" subtraction. I can calculate that for you, but I'm gonna need a bunch of "atta-boys". I'm sure others could use atta-boys too." Please don't strain yourself...gotta save your energy for those Swami battles! The surface area of the plate as shown is pretty close to 1200 sq in.= 8.33 sq ft. @11.25 lb/ft....94 lbs. Hmmmm---maybe I shoulda lasered a few more holes in it! A UTV isn't a HDT---don't need extra weight on the back end! Actually I've been enjoying your description of the project above immensely. I loved working with the old mills and lathes...just wish I still had access to a Bridgeport! I'd hadn't realized that the jaws were speced that tight to the pin---but that does explain why I had to use a file to remove all the burrs on my kingpin and radius the edges on the jaws before I could get the Binkley (new) to latch! Refuzn-To-Grow-Up
If I knew how to load a picture I'd show off what I get to run everyday I see lots of folks using something called picaso. But I have not a clue how they do it. Maybe someone will step in here and explain.
phoenix2013
Set up Picassa account and create a file with the pictures you want to share. There is some "manipulation" how to make it public but more on it later. Pull the picture you want to post in the forum post and here are the steps. I can supply more detail but got to run right now, busy, busy, busy, living in Paradise, it's a Saturday in late January, warm (70's), no snow, life is good. jkennell
If I knew how to load a picture I'd show off what I get to run everyday First hit "reply", then if you hit the "More Reply Options" button in the lower right corner, it gives you a direct upload option. See attached Snip 1 below. Hit "Choose files" and use the file browser to select the picture you want (must be less than 100KB...use a compress or resize function in a picture manager to reduce if necessary). The uploaded file appears just above the "attach Files" bar. See attached Snip 2 above. Move your typing cursor to where you want the picture in your post, and then hit "Add to Post" on the right side. For more than one picture, just repeat the process. The only thing is the total size of ALL pictures must be less than 100KB. When you are done, "Preview Post" or "Add Reply" Quick and doesn't require any outside picture storage. No camper at present. Way too many farm machines to maintain.
phoenix2013
Jack, by Monday it will not be so nice here, but still much much better than everywhere else. The 100K limit for attached pictures is pretty pity fool, good for text, some pdf's and very small or very grainy pictures

jkennell
Sorry about that, got little distracted. So, which one do you typically run...the lathe or the mug? Anyway that looks interesting...! No camper at present. Way too many farm machines to maintain.
dubldart
Little bit of both. Depends on cycle time. Primarily I'm a mill guy but if need be I'll go work on a lathe. Conversational programming IMHO is the easiest
