  1. Why would anybody want to be on any of that crap. There are great cigars to be smoked and exceptional scotch to be drank to be wasting time on social media. Dennis
  2. Thanks Derek. Glad you are doing well. I guess I just missed your insight in the PC world. Be safe and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Dennis
  3. Chalkie At the rate the military is missing their recruiting goals they will be giving them the answers to the questions soon. 20 years of useless wars which has resulted in nothing has soured young people from any interest in serving. Dennis
  4. Chief I don't even know if that security feature is still used by MB or if it was used on the smarts made for America. I am assuming your smart is a made for America smart which is different from the original MB Smarts in several ways. Dennis
  5. Was it raining at the time? What year is the smart. On our 2003 smart car. Yes it was one of the original 1342 smarts brought into the US by C&K out in CA and converted to US spec. I had traded my sister the smart for her RAV4 for a week so we could haul my Father and my MIL to our sons wedding. Anyway she was driving the smart and it was raining and she thought the wiper controls would make the wipers go faster using the intermittent or what she thought was the intermittent wiper control and rolled it counter clockwise 4 times. Well MB had built in a security feature that if you rolled the wiper control 4 times counter clockwise it would not allow the car to start. It was raining cats and dogs and she was stopped at a major intersection when she did it and the car shut off. She was a block from her office and had to call for help. 3 folks from her office came to her aid and pushed it around the conner and into a parking lot. She called me in a panic and back in 2006 when this happened there were not very many smarts around. I put the problem on the smart forum and within 30 min someone gave me the answer. We were the 4th folks to put a smart on the back of our Volvo 770. Anyway try rolling the wiper controls end 4 turns clockwise and see if that works. Dennis
  6. AI does not know the difference between right and wrong it does not know the difference between true and false it only knows what it gleans off the internet. As long as you know those differences AI is not a threat Dennis
  7. Hallmark. The have a complete staff setup to think up BS days Dennis
  8. Thanks RV. I was thinking of having it repaired for my son but I got him a new Huskqvarna Back Pack Leaf Blower instead for Christmas Dennis
  9. Thanks RV. I knew you would have the answer at your fingertips. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Dennis
  10. Is a MS Surface Pro 4 worth $269? I think it is a intel i5. It's the Pro 4 I gave my daughter-in-law mybe 6 years ago. She dropped it and cracked the screen. It did not bend the case but it did jack up the screen and how the touch screen work. Which is iffy at best. I can get the screen and the associated equipment replaced for $269 but the question is it worth it. I know it is to old to work with Win 11. It has the slip into Bluetooth keyboard. So should I spend the $269? Dennis
  11. durangodon Ya think? rynosback I don't know what #*@=ing is? I do know what $%^&ing is and that was what I was doing with you. It was early and I had not had my first cigar for the day and so sometimes I get a little playful before that first cigar. And no I am one of the happiest people you will ever meet. I have been waking up next to this drop dead gorgeous 72 year old chick now for 54 years. Oh yes I am a Happy Man. Be safe and thanks for playing along. Dennis
  12. durangodon A: Because my wife of 54 years was on my @#$ about moving into a smart phone. B: I was told that my 50 year plus sons would communicate more and that the 3 grandchildren that I have in college would reply to grandpa's text faster than they would answer the phone. 😄 I had bought her a Iphone 12 128 GB and she thought I should have one 😧 I had cut back to 1 scotch a day and her pedicure account was now flush with cash. Dennis
  13. Rynosback Yes that is correct my phone is unlocked and you know why because it is a $%^&ing phone. I say hello and I say goodbye on it. I am not married to this bitch it does not follow me around, it is not on my night stand when I go to sleep at night, I don't check it every 30 seconds to see if the world is still here. I don't use it's maps to figure out where I am going. I had a flip phone for 15 years but the battery keep falling out. I had hoped to wait until 7 G came out but being 72 I did not figure I would live that long so I went for the 5 G. There is nothing on my phone that someone could gain access to that I would not tell them if they asked. So yes I would prefer not to be required to punch in a 6 digit code to use a device I paid over $800 for just because some other dip !@#$ programs their life into a $%^&ing phone. Dennis PS: That was fun to wright.
  14. No I do not believe so. After installing you have to go through a whole new set up your phone. Before when it asked you to create a passcode you could select other options and select not to use a passcode. it will no longer offer you the option of selecting not to use a passcode. Dennis
  15. Download went fine. However I do not want to use a passcode but it seems to be required in the new setup. Is there a way to turn off the passcode requirement? Dennis
