rebntx
I'm done with Good Sam. They've ripped me off twice. Is there a good alternative to GS extended warranty? Does your vehicle insurance cover mechanical breakdowns on the road...e.g., faulty jack, faulty furnace, etc...etc?
Velos
We have never purchased an extended warranty and have a high deductibles on all our insurance plans. We do have emergency roadside service with our vehicle insurance and they have changed our tires on the road several times. In our travels we have met people that did purchase extended warranties for their RV and found that they did not cover what they thought it would or should. One person's comment was "Between the legal double speak and fine print in the contract they would have been better off putting the premiums in a savings account and used that for the repairs, a lot less hassle than trying to get the extended warranty to pay" I Googled "Extended Warranties for RV's" and found several articles about the service in general and some companies that offer extended warranties that may be of assistance to you: https://www.google.com/search?q=extended+warranties+for+RV%27s&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-
Jimalberta
I agree with JM...dont believe in extended warranties and never purchase them. They are in business to make money not help you to any significant degree. <p>....JIM and LINDA......2001 American Eagle 40 '.towing a GMC Sierra 1500 4X4 with RZR in the rear. 1999 JEEP Cherokee that we tow as well. Kirk W
Several of the Escapees have used Wholesale Warranties with good results. As to whether or not they are a good deal, it is foolish to make your choice based upon the needs of another person. These things are actually a health insurance policy for the RV and coverage is provided by an insurance underwriter. I suggest that before you choose one of the companies that write the coverages, take the time to read this article published in Escapee's magazine on two occasions. richfaa
How did GS rip you off. We have GS and have used it with no problem. We also had a Extended Warranty via Wholesale warranties(RV Shield)and used them several times over 7 years with no problems. It is the responsibility of the buyer to understand what they are buying and all insurance companies /businesses are in business to make money.
