TXiceman
We pulled into Santa Fe Skies RV Park in Santa Fe, NM and spotted a beautiful Continental Coach pulled by a matching Volvo tractor. We met the owners and he is on the HDT forum on occasion....KenL Beautiful rig and really nice owners. Kirk W
The afternoon while checking into the Tree Haven RV Park, just north of Columbus, OH the lady asked where we are heading so I mentioned Escapade and she immediately came round the desk and gave me a big hug! Seems that she and her husband helped to staff quite a few Escapades in the 2005/10 time frame and she knew several of the same folks that we have become friends with. We must have visited for an hour or more after we got parked. She has a lot in Rainbow's End but sadly her husband passed away 3 years ago. Kind of like old home week! It must be nice to leisurely head out a month early. I am still employed so I won't be leaving until July 22 but I'm only traveling from Pennsylvania. Seeing Kirk is coming across the North for the rest of his trip I'm interested In what tools most people use to route trips? I used Good Sam's Plan a Trip tool. Is there something better? 2006 Chevy Duramax, DRW, ext cab, Long bed, Reese 18K hitch 2011 Carriage Cameo Ham radio operator, WA3UOE

It is nice to be retired and able to travel slowly! But I didn't leave a month early only a couple of weeks as staff positions are all asked to arrive early. Some key people are already on site and have been for a while, the second wave are due in on 7/15(including us), and the other staff positions arrive on 7/21. It just depends upon what job you have signed up for. We are in Erie, PA tonight and tomorrow as we haven't ever visited here before so wanted to spend a little time to see the area. I use a combination of Google Maps, my Garmin GPS, and various websites to look over the places that we are looking to stop. There are many excellent internet tools for planning the routing and your stops, but locating good RV parks gets more difficult as we travel into the northeast. The most challenging for us was finding a satisfactory stop in central NY. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... 2gypsies
It's neat that RVers seem to travel in the same circles throughout the country. We constantly met up with our RV friends in the strangest places like a museum in Flagstaff and once we were at Organ Pipe Cactus Nat'l Park and were going to do a hike. I was ready to sign the hiking log and looked back at some names and found that someone we had met 8 years prior was in the park, also. We looked them up and had a nice reunion.
