  1. Cory sorry took so long to answer. First off I sold my tractor life chances and went a different direction. Just turned 74 and to be honest DW never was thrilled with it. Any I love the idea of making magnetic signs as you did. I did have signage and like most was 2 inch decals. Everybody is correct the signage is meaningless on the legal side of things. I can say though at least 3 times had Highway Patrol come up long side of me. Appeared to look at signage and went on their way. Was they going to stop me for whatever reason and decided not to bother because of signage and had better things to do, I don't know, like to think so. When I was arguing with Commercial MVD about changing registration from Commercial to non commercial which in Arizona provide to be a lost cause. At one time they did and then stopped doing it I missed out on when it was allowed. One of the things they kept saying was I could easily start doing Commercial. I showed them the truck with the signage and the non commercial hitch and the 3 foot extension of the frame rails along with removal of glad hands and said not going to happen! They were not impressed. I think if had magnetic signs would have made it harder in States where you could change from Commercial to non commercial would be my only other concern. Other than that I love it!!!!! Oh I stick around on this forum encase sometime maybe have some useful help and always entertaining!!!!!!!!
  2. I for sure would not put in battery compartment. Stock on my 5er toy hauler the generator in the front and the fuel take in the back mounted under the 5er. I think there is a reason for it. They used fabricated metal angle brackets to mount to the 5er frame. Ment to add mine is a gas onan 5500 also
  3. Be leaving my S&B tomorrow East of Show Low, Az. Traveling via Payson Az to Goodyear Az, for boondocking for the week at Phoenix International Speedway for next weekends NASCAR. Me along with a few fellow fans!!!!!
  4. OI had a problem with my Gearmaster(can't remember was now) but called and they exchanged immediately no problem. Hopefully the same for you.
  5. Okay got back to the S & B this afternoon. Sad trip is over then again good to be home. No more tire problems since San Antonio and tire wears appears uniform so I don't think I need to have axle alignment checked again. I do plan on putting on Michelin XPS's before the next big trip however. Everyone be safe out there and looks like I left Texas none to soon looking at weather!!!
  6. Arrived in Albuquerque today at the Albuquerque Central KOA. Since this is the last stop before getting home to my S & B I opted for the Supreme Deluxe site. I think this is the most I have paid in a long time per night like $65 I think it was at least over $60 anyways. Nice site though though getting to it was interesting and a little tight as far as some turns and narrow roads but my 67 feet got here!!!! I can see some might have a problem but it really was ok. Besides we deserved the Supreme Deluxe site!!!! We will be here tell Thursday and then 270 miles to S & B to end the trip. Unless it seems muddy at S & B then may stop for a day or 2 at Gallup NM at the USA RV Park to let things dryout as there are supposed to be some rain. We will see. how it goes it is windy here right now. .
  7. Arrived in Clovis New Mexico this afternoon at the Travelers World Campground and will be here tell Monday. Next stop probably will be around Albuquerque just not exactly sure yet.
  8. I agree some of my best trips are when I get lets say a bit confused!!!! I will be leaving Abilene Texas and be in Clovis NM tomorrow afternoon.
  9. Arrived In Abilene Texas yesterday afternoon from San Antonio. It was an interesting trip a recommended route from a friend and started that route then wife using maps decided that route went to far East of Abilene and picked an alternative. Somehow on that route she decides we should follow Garmin GPS with trucking software. Result we seen the hill country and was nice. I am not sure if I can remember the route entirely. I would not recommend doing this for anyone but doing so has let us see some unexpected country. We usually make up our minds(DW!!!!) before actually starting and pretty much stick to it wither is is her map route or the Garmin. By the way the roads and area we went through was between the rings and the 2 pages of Texas maps in the Trucker Atlas i think was another of her problems. For me while and little winding road and some up and down hilly was a fun drive I enjoyed it. We will be here in the Abilene RV Park 3 miles East of Abilene just off I-20 E. A lot of truck noise but I can sleep through about anything. On Edit: Will be here tell Thursday.
  10. Left Junction Texas this morning and now here in San Antonio at the KOA. Really nice park and room for my 67 feet including place to park the Smart car on site. Was interesting driving with some needs to change lanes from right to far left multiple lanes but it was not rush hour helped a bunch. I did have someone come up along side of me at a stop light a couple of miles from the KOA and said i had a bubble in one of my right side trailer tires. Cursory look I did not see a bubble but will get down and dirty with flashlight and maybe jack tires to spin them over next day or 2 and make sure. Need to fix if I have a problem before heading back to Arizona next Monday. I may have to dump these almost new Carlise ST tires and get 4 new Michelin XPS's if in fact I do have a bubble. Yep blister on the inside of the tire about the size of a baseball. This tire was the coolest running of the 4 tires so go figure at least according to the TPMS. Probably get a Carlise to replace this one and get new Michelin before next trip.
  11. Okay will leave Fort Stockton Texas and go to Junction Texas will be staying at Junction North Llano River RV Park. This should give me a short leg to San Antonio.
  12. We will be leaving the Las Cruces NM KOA tomorrow the 23rd and heading to Fort Stockton TX and plan on staying at the appropriately named Fort Stockton RV Park. Should be there until the 26th when we plan to leave for San Antonio TX. I need to stop someplace in-between any suggestions? I want to work it so after that stop can get into San Antonio say around 10 or 11 AM just want to avoid rush hour if that is even possible. Once again will be staying at the San Antonio KOA but it is really the most convenient for visiting my friend and doing other things from that location. Arrived here in Fort Stockton TX and like I said be here tell Thursday.
  13. Well be heading from Tucson tomorrow via I-10 to Las Cruces New Mexico. Will be staying at a KOA there which i don't normally do but wife she did not care about the few extra bucks so what can I say. Supposed to have 85 foot sites we will see!!! I was at one KOA that claimed 80 foot sites and my 67 foot combination just barely fit. I will let you know how it is after arrival tomorrow night. Edit: arrived today Las Cruces NM KOA and my 67 feet fit. Will be here until Monday the 23rd and thinking the next stop will be in Fort Stockton Texas. I will decide for sure Sunday before I leave.
  14. I have been here at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) since last Monday the 9th and will leave here tomorrow morning for Tucson. Will see the new Great Grandson and stay at Justin's Diamond J RV Park tell the 19th. Then will start my way slowly to visit a very good friend in San Antonio Texas. Have no idea yet where will be stopping. Our usual slow pace 2 to 3 hundred miles per day and staying 3 or 4 days at each stop. HC huh mm mm could take all spring to get there!!!!!
  15. Made it home with only one glitch. Got a warning of low air pressure on the TST. So stopped om Heber and changed the tire on the 5er. The tire looked ok and I did not check it but I think it is the valve stem probably leaking. Will be replacing before next trip. $15.95 each for Thanksgiving dinner and casino in Payson. Excellent and where can you get Prime rib and turkey!!!
