  1. Depends on the state.
  2. Do you have any problems with yur BC or do you work him well enough to keep him happy? Jin gets about 1-2 hrs of outside free time a day and his work so I don't have any of the typical problems you find with a bored BC.
  3. One Yeou might want to check into having a titre don. next time rabies vacs are done. It's cheaper than a vaccinaction and proves that past vaccinations are still effective.
  4. Sorry to hear that Lee. Glad your safe and unhurt. Hearing about thingsa like that is enough to give me the chills. Hope to avoid that entirely. Bewell Steve and Jin
  5. I have a health passport for Jin I got at Petsmart. It has a service dog team ID card in it, photo copy of his tags and every time he gets a vet visit it's logged in there and signed off by the vet. That includes all of his vaccinations so it's current. Since Jin wears a vest he always has it. At least when he's wearing his green vest he has it. Every place I've ever taken Jin to be groomed I've been asked for proof of rabies and bortadella vaccinations. I was also asked to provide proof by his trainers whenever we take a class with other dogs. A word about bortadella or kennel cough. A couple of years ago Jin got his vaccinations and 6 weeks later he caught kennel cough at a dogpark. Bortadella doesn't always take so be careful.
  6. Got fed up with Palm Springs and moved to Joshua Tree Lake Campground in the high desert. Beautiful place that's mostly empty. Nice rate for the week and a weeks internet. Water and power but you have to use the dump station. Nice little lake to fish in too. Best part is I have a close friend I haven't seen for years 2 miles from here. A lot of you would like him. He's at Prospectors Depot dot Com. Spent the day there and got a couple of very nice pickers of crystalline gold and a couple of small pieces of hematite from him for an art project. I digress This is a big park. Lots of space and right now not more than 10-15 rigs in the whole place. The middle of May the Joshua Tree Music Festival will here. When I got here I I parked away from everyone else with a beautiful view of the Morongo Basin. That was until this afternoon when I returned from my friends place. There was a fiver parked right next to me blocking my view of the basin. He had an entire campground to choose from and he parks right next to me. I would never do that to anyone/ With this much space around I would at least parked a cople of space away from somebody else. At least their rig will block the morning sun whcih can be pretty fierce. Still it's a poor display of manners. The only explanation I have for it is the license plate,. New York. Maybe he misses the crowds. The only satisfaction I shall get form it is knowing that the will prance about likea typical tourists half naked in the desert sun and tomorrow night they shall be lobster red. This will be especially true if it;s a rental and tey;re from Germany. And I am not a grump.
  7. Great post Ray. I'd like to add something if I may :etiquette. I have mentioned this in relation to service dogs but I saw something the while sitting at an outdoor cafe in Palm Springs that along with this post gave me a thought. This photo appears on Jin's page. It sort of relates. . This is for for the safety of everyone here whenever you are around any dog. Do not reach for any dog. Let them come up to you and give you a sniff. If they touch you then it's okay to scratch under the chin. Do not pat on the head. Dog's don't like that. Never pat or touch a dog unless they are aware of you. Surprising a dog is another good way to get bit. Never put your face close to a dog. Don't stare a dog down, that's a very aggressive move on your part. Watch a dogs mizsle and lips. If the lips curl even a little curls just move your hand away. Friendly happy dogs that want to meet you will wag tails, ears forwards may have mouth open and be smiling. Unfriendly or unhappy dogs have ears back, tails tucked or wrapped around the left side of their bodies. Lastly just because a dog barks does not mean it's being aggressive. There are many reasons dogs bark and growl, from love to warnings. It takes practice but you can definitely tell how a dogs feels by it's vocalizations.
  8. I'm heading for Joshua Tree for a week. There are a couple of nice place there and it will be cooler than Palm Springs. Take my rig in for it's maint cycle in May so that's getting close. Not sure what I'm going to do while it's in the shop. I may return to Glendale. Don't know yet.
  9. Saandstorms and high winds are keeping me whee I am.
  10. How is this going to affect us if we want to stay for a couple or 3 months?
  11. That's why I'm here. My ex- and I used to sit through the time share sales pitches to get the vacations. Set a stop watch gong and at 90 mins times up where's ,y vacation. Wany another way out, tell them you bring your dogs. Most are are no dogs.
  12. I've seen a lot of "no dog parks" and those with size and breed restrictions. I won't go to a park that doesn't allow dogs even if I can take Jin in legally.
  13. Windstorm in Palm Springs yesterday left the trailer rocking like a boat at sea. Didn't sleep much was afraid a wind gust might overturn it. The whether channel listed 85mph gusts.
  14. My first whack at boondocking. Parked by my nieces and running in a low power mode in the San Jancinto mountains. Will be here a for a few days through the holiday. Nice weather although I should have checked ALL the windows last night. I do need to get a generator. The power cord just reaches and I'm keeping the power way down so not to heat up the wire.
  15. Was in downtown Palm Springs today. There is a 2 1/2 story statue of Marilyn Monroe from "Some Like it Hot" downtown now. I like it/ Better than the building that was there. Amazing how many people walk underneath to see her 50s style panties.
