  3. We are traveling west-bound from Middlebury, IN to Kellogg, IA (off I-80). We want to avoid tolls when possible, but stay on the most direct route, so will travel U.S. 20 in Indiana to I-94W to I-80. Once we enter Illinois, we know this involves toll roads (Tri-State Tollway (I-94/I-294/I-80)?). Any hints for big-rigs? Should we stay in the right lane? Do the toll booths accept cash or credit card payments? Or is it all ‘Pay By Plate?’ Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance, JohnnyB

    Kansas Turnpike

I am traveling east on I-70 from Salina, KS to Higginsville, MO tomorrow. I will use the KS Turnpike from Topeka to Kansas City, and will pay cash for the tolls. Is it apparent which lane is for Big Rigs at the toll plazas?
  5. We are driving west to east on I-70 from Salina, KS, through Topeka, KS and Kansas City to Higginsville, MO. We usually avoid toll roads, but in this case we will use the toll road (rather than wind through on State and County Roads). We will pay cash at the toll booths. Are there designated toll booths for Big Rigs (we're 13'6" H), and what side of the toll exchange are they? Right? Left? Thank you.
  6. Hi Folks, Thought I'd share my experience getting 10 new tires. Steers are Michelin X Line Energy Z 315's. Super smooth riding. Pair was $2200. Drives are Bridgestone R268 ECOPIA. 8 Tires were $4400. Drives took about 2 hours, Steers about 40 minutes. Photo shows them changing the steers while leaving the rims installed. Seemed a bit dangerous but the worker said he only does this with new tires.
  7. We are heading to Maverick Ranch RV Park, Lajitas, TX from Ft. Stockton (off I-10) in mid-March. Has anyone driven this route before? We have a 45' Rig and tow a pickup, so are 70' long driving down the road. We are 13'6" high. Should we use US-67 south or US-385 south to get to TX-118 (then TX-170)? Or is there a better option? Thank you.
  8. I am currently running 275/80R22.5 Michelin XZA3+ Drive Tires on my Showhauler Motorhome built on na Cascadia 2013 Chassis. They will need to be replaced within the next year due to aging. I am confused due to the wide selection of commercial tire offering. If I stick with Michelin, what specific tire would you recommend? If I go with an alternative, what specific tire would you recommend? Thanks, JohnnyB
