PEIFamily
Looks good!! How do you like the Milwaukee saw? Picked up one about 2 weeks ago for $90 used, the blade is starting to get worn out, but heard the original blade is not great anyways. 2006 Volvo 670 singled long 2011 Heartland Sundance 3300CK 2006 Smart passion 2001 F350 DRW CREWCAB
rickeieio
I've had one of those saws for years. Absolutely love it. Blades are expensive, but my local hardware store carries a less expensive, same quality, alternative. A word of caution though, use a good extension cord. Wimpy cords will shorten saw motor life. Love it, I have cut all the flat steel on the bed with it except the wheel cutouts, and it cuts like butter. Just wear eye protection as it does throw a lot of chips. We had one before this one and loaned it to a friend, gave him the good extension cord but the saw came back burnt up, i asked him if he used our extension cord. Well, it was too short, I needed 200 feet so I used the little orange cords hooked together, and your saw sucks!! Lesson learned, if you need to use my saw, go buy your self a saw. SuiteSuccess
Man that is looking nice. I just bought one of the Milwaukee deep cut portable band saws after using one at the HDT rally. Can't wait til warmer weather to get my welding gear all set up. Don't worry about the savings account. rickeieio
Home Depot had this saw for $299 last year. As I've often found, Amazon, while convenient, is way to expensive. I can go to my local hardware store, not big box, and buy for less than Amazon, every time. And if there's an issue, I get service, not a reply to send it back and wait. End of rant....... GoldRush
Holy Heck that looks a bit dangerous! I have a Dewalt Carbide Chop Saw that I Love but I'm not sure I'd want a Circular Saw. You can get the blades resharpened and/or have individual carbide teeth replaced.

That turbo was screaming so loud ya woke me up from my nap last year Well, I got to admit it but that was planned. She does scream on WOT don't she!! Yes, I will have her done, and am planning on going to the ECR with it. If things work out I will attend the truck show in Lewisville, then head to Crossville for some show and tell. I do thank everyone at the Hutchison rally for letting me bend there ear on beds, and taking pictures to plan mine. I have over built the bed as I am one to overload what ever I have, including the LGT. Roger

I wanted the chop saw but Milwaukee discounted them last year. It really cuts like butter, I have not checked into sharpening the blade, but will. Big5er
I don't mean to hijack Roger's thread but Dublin no longer bottles any Dr. Pepper products and hasn't for 3 years. They were forced to quit after their following grew too large and Dr. Pepper claimed that they were in violation of their contract. There are other bottling companies that are now bottling limited quantities of the "original" recipe (but made with beet sugar and not real pure cane sugar) but they are hard to find in my part of Texas MY PEOPLE SKILLS ARE JUST FINE.~It's my tolerance to idiots that needs work.~ 2005 Volvo 780 VED12 465hp / Freedomline transmission singled mid position / Bed by Larry Herrin2018 customed Mobile Suites 40KSSB3 2014 smart Fortwo

Deezl Smoke
Nice job piercing the channel for the cross tubes. That'll pay dividends right quick. I'd have preferred to grind the mill scale off of the channel and tubing before laying the tubes into the channel, but this is not my build. Looking forward to next progress report. I'm a work'n on it.

Sorry, I was referring to the weld quality of including the mill scale vs. removing it. My bad. But looking forward to the progress. Are you going to spray the liner or have it done? If you do it, I'd like to learn more about the brands and cost of the stuff you use please. I'm a work'n on it.
ruthanns1
Nice build looks like it's going great, we will be adding to our already done bed this spring. We need to move the hitch back about another 2' 1/2 to 3' more to give us more room for the smart. It had a plywood deck and we removed it and plan on putting 1/4" diamond plate on. We look forward to more of your progress. Chip Chip and Ruth 2000 Kenworth T2000 'Titus' 2006 Keystone Raptor 'Cletus' 2010 Smart 'Alyck'
