  1. I wrote an intro to reading charge controller data to tell how the system is working. Might help or might make things worse. 😕
  2. Old smartphones can be used as dashcams, obdii displays, geocaching beaters, etc.
  3. The noises that come out of vehicle salescritters' mouths are typically unenforceable because: The BS part is puffery ; and even the objective claims and promises are typically handwaved in the purchase agreement. For those want to be depressed/enlightened: Edited to add: I did interact with a useful car salesman once. I left the license plate frame on with his dealership to give them extra exposure.
  4. I enjoy helping when I can. I gratefully accept offers of help when I need it. I decline when I don't need it. I don't enjoy receiving lectures, scolds, or blowhards relentlessly berating others with poorly-informed opinion presented as fact. (in general, not referring to this thread) I have learned to quickly ID the "helpful" slingers of BS by the use of words/phrases like these: junk nothing but problems you can't you have to what you want to do is... and the overuse of imperatives As Bernard Russell reportedly said: As far as offering help to single women, I do not take zero-upside risks that could upend my life in a moment. I am helpful if they request it or initiate conversation.
  5. Exactly so. Boondocking at 9600' with barely any sound at all. Gentle wind noise, a hummingbird or bumblebee flies in to visit a couple times a day. Sometimes this laptop's fan comes on. 🙂 IME the key to peace and quiet is getting away from people.
