reed and elaine
Saw that a number of RVs had mesh shade covers on beach in Yucatan. Someone mentioned that alumiized mesh shade covedrs were very effective in reducing heat loading (sun-loaded side can get to 110 F with ambient temperature in high 80s). Has anyone had expereince with these Reed and Elaine
skp51443
Had the metal ones on the house and they were both fragile and ugly after a bit of wear and tear, replaced with fabric ones I'm a lot happier. On the fiver we put on awnings instead of screens as we got a better view and they were less effort. When picking fabric you have a lot of choices and trade-offs, dark colors let you see out better but gain more heat, light gain less heat but cut down on the view more. We went with black and 80% light blocking for most windows in the house, a couple that got a lot of sun we did with 90% cloth and that 10% makes a big difference. reed and elaine
Thanks Stanley. We will probably buy one of the aluminized mesh and see how it works. Reed and Elaine
