Now you're talking! The bluegrass jams will get us there! That's our kind of music and we love to play with new people. Hope they still have them when we get down there. Looking ahead to retirement in 2 years. Need a place not too far from Michigan for our first leg on the way south. That way we can just drive back to MI for Christmas. Thanks a lot for the info!

They also have (had?) bluegrass jams there 2 times a week,,you can join in with some really great local musicians.. great place for a picker.

Not sure about the site sizes as the park did some upgrades since I was last there.

Why don't you call them and they will be able to tell you.

Museum of Appalachia just north of the park,"Nuke City" just to the west, Dollywood to the east,and Knoxville just a little way south. The campground staff should be able to give you much more info.

I see that you have stayed at Racoon Valley several times. Can you tell me how large the sites are and is there a lot to do and see in the area?

Your welcome. We bought almost three years ago and love it. We plan to retire and go full time in 2015, this will be our Michigan home during the summer. Can't wait!
