IYQ
I been playing with this Dad burn thing for the last hour tring to get it to stay on the internet. And now that I have the thing typed I see that it has dropped off and on a couple of times while I was typing. It was very sticky and muggy today not the best day for being in the desert. I spent most of the day sleeping in my lounge chair outside. Hang in there JIM. Those fish are swimming around in circles waiting for you. palamine
Short trip but lots of hoops to jump through. Dump station first, border went A Okay (no balsamic rice??), no mail at Post Office, got temporary debit cards at Wells Fargo. Missing the on ramp from Bellingham south to Seattle. Got to Olive Garden to meet Joe about 25 minutes late. No Joe. Waited and then left a message with hostess that we would be at Best Buy. Joe doesn't get the message but finds us anyhow. WOW. Got our new phone, got minutes for our air card. Great, great, great lunch at Olive Garden. Sheesh, all you can eat salad, soup and bread sticks for $7.95 each. We had loads and loads and it was excellent. Crumb you can't eat at Mickey D's for that. Lots of ears burning out there? I think we covered everyone! So good to see Joe even if he did forget our two Welcome to the USA gifts - the Escapee Magazine (we've haven't seen it yet) and a bottle of cranberry juice. Oh well, so nice. So now we are at Tulalip Casino in the pouring rain but great place. We are shut up for the night. Going to get a good rest. Neither of us slept much last night. We were so excited. IYQ
I actually slept until after the sun came up this morning. I usually have to sit here looking out a black window for a couple of hours before the first rays light up the place. Played around a little while it was cool marking my solar compass with used baking soda. Now when I take the trailer out to dump the tanks I can park it again exactly in the right direction to keep the Frig in the shade all day and the solar panels in the sun all day. Really I could do that anyway but I had to play with something. The Slab Lows is now officially open. The president arrived today so I took her and Barb my partner in crime out to dinner at the Buckshot in town. And now that I have this typed I notice that Verizon has dropped the internet signal again. So Here we go with a copy and past job so I can get it sent. Wanderin
We are on our way south. We didn't get far yesterday but certainly made up for it today. Yesterday we spent 3 hours on the side of the road while an inside tire was replaced. I went to bed at 7:30 last night. It's amazing how tired waiting can make you. Then, I woke up this morning to discover that someone cut the bungies on our trailer and swiped two of our gas cans and a jack. Once we were up we decided to leave. It wasn't supposed to rain but it was and it was dark. We also discovered that the instrument panel light needed to be replaced. Today was a long day .... 555 miles. We don't do that often. Thank goodness! Edited October 20, 2012 by Wanderin' Quote Just Wanderin' On a permanent vacation! http://blog.willywagon.net

We do worry about everybody that is out there on the road. Toni and Doug - sure glad you're back in the good ole USA. Saw on Denise's blog that she is already back in AZ. She just left Newfoundland (is that all one word??) on October 5. Our friend Dianna is going to be joining the group at Q. We spent all day yesterday with her at an RV show and she went home the proud owner of a new travel trailer. Now Jim is going to try and teach her how to tow it and some of the basics. I also think the RV driving school would be good for her. Jim's surgery is scheduled for November 6. Wish it was sooner but the wheelchair worked really good at the RV show. steved44
Ho boy, sounds like there are a lot of us moving right now, we included! We spent 9 days at Liberty Harbor Marina in NYC and had a blast. Carol & I rode our bikes all through central park, and caught a broadway show too. We went to coney island and had Nathans hot dogs, and checked it all out. We spent time at the 911 memorial, and the Empire State building. Then we headed out south for Dover Delaware, where I was stationed 40 some years ago in the Air Force. I was a marksmanship instructor, and one of the other instructors still lives in Dover. We are now hooked up in his back yard and having a great time talking about old times. Dover has changed a lot since the last time I was here in 1970, but some things are still around. We toured the AFB yesterday and there was not much there that I could remember. They did still have the famcamp not too far from the old firing range where I worked. There were 8 or 9 RV's parked there and it looked like a nice camping spot. We are going to pull out of Dover on Monday or Tues and head for a brief stop at Washington DC and then head down to South Carolina to meet up with Marty and Paul who we met in Yuma last winter. Nice weather here, a little rain and now it will be sunny all weekend. High of 70 and lows int he mid 50's. The trees are still turning, around here probably a week from peak color. I remember the humidity around here was high, and it seems not to have disappointed me. It was good to have someone here to show me around and to point out where the old "haunts" were that did not exist any more. Well, got to go take a "steve" nite all. Ya that Joe and his memory. Was GREAT seeing Toni and Doug even though the visit was way to short. We really needed a couple of days to really make the ears burn. And I agree though we did pretty much cover everyone. Even I am heading out this next week. Heading over to Pacific Beach, WA for a few days. Gonna take in the Irish Music Festival that is happening in Ocean Shores. Neighbors and another couple are going over also so it should be a good time for all. Joe Just looked at the weather for this area and noticed they are predicting SNOW for both of the main roads heading east from here. I hope Toni and Doug are keeping their eyes open for this also as they were planning on heading east on Hwy 2 today. We on the other hand are having a Thunder Storm, lightning is hitting so close that the thunder is shaking the house. IYQ
A couple of Low members returned for the season today. We got all the doors unlocked and opened up. And most of the Recycling barrels in place. I'm still working on sorting all the burned garbage that strangers put in our burn barrels after we closed up last spring. I should get that completed tomorrow. It is forcast to be cool tomorrow so maybe I won't have to stop working at 8AM because it's getting too hot. I did get a little walk in tonight after the sun went down. I'll have to go to WALLY WORLD tomorrow or the next day. Bananas only last about 3 days in this heat. Now that everyone else is on the move it looks like I'm here for the winter. sandsys
Well, I'm not on the road yet but I'm packing. We leave Friday for Texas where my van is supposed to be ready Monday. Dave will stay down there until we feel OK about me being on my own then head back home. I have planned to have no plans. I want to be free to feel my way into this solo traveling bit. Forty-five years of togetherness with the last five of it being 24/7 will make this be VERY different. So I have made NO commitments other than coming home next Spring.
