Has anyone seen this app?

Well its a phone app and a bluetooth 9pin connector for the truck

http://bluefire-llc.com/trucks.html

Run through the slide show and read the FAQ. It looks neat

(I'm hoping the more tech savy than I types will read this)

I wonder if it will really "interpret" the codes like the demo shows. Most of this stuff is available thru the dash display on my volvo, but not all of it.

WOW.......between a dash cam and the Bluefire device the ole Freightshaker will be 10 times smarter than I have ever been......

If the device is half as good as it claims it could be a real help when the truck decides to go on strike out in the middle of nowhere......just might save a service call or a tow........

Phil cut back a few cans of DrPepper a day and you will have saved enough to buy-n-try one......

I'll just have to cut back on Rootbeer...........some......

Cheers

Yeah, that is a neat little device. Somewhat akin to a Silverleaf. My only possible issue with it (without trying it) is the value of the fault readings. It only knows the "standard" faults - not the Volvo (in my case) possible interpretation of those faults. So that aspect may not be as helpful as one would wish.

I know him well and whats in his slide show is exactly whats on the phone. If you end up with something wonky just send it to him or put it on his forum. He'll fix it up. Trust me when I say he knows his chit. So how did you run across it? Did you come across a trucker that had one yesterday? Amazon and Apple about drove him crazy but he is slowly persevering and getting them out there.

I've seen it before--looked like a good setup hardware-wise, but I wasn't too crazy about the app design (having used Torque, which probably isn't a fair comparison). I came across it somewhere looking for J1939 specs.

If the HDT scrap yard owner uses the device, what opinion has he formed in his use so far?

The fairly active trip-datta-logging" seems to have some merit for RV use since one might see some informal trend-monitorig uses.

Pondering.....

Looks like a great start, to a complicated issue.

I have used an OBD2 Bluetooth Interface that operates in a similar manner, and it is fantastic.

As this evolves, it could provide a fairly inexpensive way for software developers to write some nice programs for trucks.

I have the scangaugeD and it does some of the same functions. It also has an additional 25 custom programmable gauges that can be set.

It does not do some of the "trip" functions and it will allow you to clear fault codes.
