Curise not working neither Jake

This sorta got started in an older post and figured it be better to start new. Anyone know where brake switch is on my truck? I have an cruise light showing it on at switch. Also have light on switch for jake. Neither works. See no switch under dash area at pedal. Is a gray round, about quarter size, at top of pedal but not wires to it. It is directly against firewall. Don't see it under hood but a lot in front of it. All the air brake system. Also have not corrected ABS yet. Hope it not all related.

Wish I could help in your particular case, Glenn, but I dont know much about that truck. Although, I can tell you that in my '07 GMC CC DRW, I chased a lack of brakes to my numerous trailers for a while, until I came upon some information that led me to the brake switch. I changed out the switch and all my intermittent and finally non-working brake issues went away.

So it is likely that all those brake issues are inter related. Keep on digging and asking questions, you will find the answer.

The cruise and Jake not activating could also be a result of the Throttle Position Sensor going bad. I had the same issues with my cruise and Jake not working when they should and it was because my TPS was dying. It finally got to the point where I was having actual throttle problems (press the throttle and engine rpm's would not increase) that I narrowed it to the TPS and had it replaced.

Interesting. My tps is working fine. Oh, I cleaned up switches, they were gummy filthy. I don't have a light on cruise switch so something is preventing power to it. No fuse listed.

On my 2005 century the brake light switch in behind the center dash area mounted on the air manifold. There is nothing on the brake pedal. When you apply brakes air pressure activates the switch that sends 12volts to the lights.

if it's a manual try holding clutch pedal up with toe, if the pedal is sagging a bit the cruise and jake won't work

Try holding the brake pedal up with your toe and then engage the cruise. Mine would not engage until the pedal was adjusted. A small bungy will hold the pedal up if that is the problem until you can get it adjusted. Don't know about the jake.

Switches are inside the cab behind the cup holders and ash tray section of the dash. I have a couple of pictures if you want to email me at shanair@bellsouth.net

Ok. Saw them. Been in there when connecting Hayes controller. Cup holder out now. As soon as I get gain set, I'm stuffing it in there. The fith wheel lock/unlock switch. What involved in removing it?

I may have it fixed. I saw no light on cruise switch yesterday. After wiggling wires have light on switch now. Will clean all those contacts. Can't test today. Replacing alternator and it off motor now. That was one of those "dang it" things. Closed hood with wrench around headlight area. Tried to remove them to polish lenses. Didn't succeed due to rusty bolts but that wrench landed right on a hot stud on alternator. She smoked. Good thing is bearing was rough so it would be failing soon anyway.

I found my abs test switch. It is behind drivers seat in that side pillar door. It gives me code 22. Also got a 23 code 1 time but only once. I'm thinking this likely reason curise not working too.

update. Do believe cruise working now. High idle working anyway. Wasn't before. Abs fixed. If I had dug deeper earlier abs would be fixed. Removed all cables, wires from looms. Abs module valves were hooked up to missing axle, no wheel sensors. The 4S/4M module only uses one set of cables where as the 6S/6M used both. Valve cables went to abandoned plug. Corrected and removed extra cables. Tie wrapped everything back up. Got front steer axle wheel sensor after this. Pushed in on sensor, moved about 1/4". Drove and before third gear light went out.
