  1. We now have family in the area. What do you think of the Greenville Farm Family Campground?
  2. I do love a good thunderstorm. Thunder and lightning at the same time, sounding like it was right on top of us. But it didn't last long and there really wasn't much damage here other than a couple trees down and loss of power. So far 12 hrs without power. There was a tree that fell on a camper in the annual section and one occupant was fine and the other was treated and released...so that is good.

    Tornado Hits Deer Run

The loud thunder/lightning storm sounded like it was right on top of us. It didn't last long and was fast moving. No train like sounds to say it was a tornado. In Deer Run there are a couple trees down and we found the camper that the tree fell on. It was in the annual section. It appears that the guy was treated and released...so that is good. There was no damage in our section other than we have been without power since about 2:30am. Being a Sunday a lot of campers, that were here for the weekend, have left.
  4. We were in Jasper late August 2017 in the overflow parking in Jasper. This is a large open area, with plenty of space. You just pick a spot, nothing assigned. This is a great place to camp. Overflow is near Snaring campground north of Jasper on Hwy 16. Jasper is a night sky preserve and the stars are amazing. I have never seen so many stars.
  5. We stayed at Four Seasons Family Campground in Pilesgrove NJ. They are open year round.
  6. The site you booked can be cancelled for a $10 fee. I had booked two non-sequential nights in Jan. But I was lucky and got 4 nights on a flood held site in May. It costs me $20 to cancel to previous reservation...but so worth it to have 4 back to back nights.
  7. We went to Yosemite last June. I also had issues with trying to book a site. Sometime in May, they usually open up a couple sites that have been held back due to potential flood problems. You can call the park to find out when they think they will release those sites. Also check back often as people do cancel. There is also youtube videos showing the actual sites. Those were helpful when I was trying to determine which sites we would fit it.
