Perfect Road Trip

I just saw something similar to this trip last week. Many of those destinations I couldn't care less about, but plenty of those are on my list or already visited.

Can't wait for the days where we don't have to be home in 9 days time!

Thanks for sharing!

So far, we've been to 14 of those places. Several are, in my eyes, not worth a stop. Many more are on my short list.

One of my goals in retirement is to do a lap of North America, taking a year, or perhaps two. This continent has so much to offer.

To me, "Perfect" is a subjective term based on each individual's perspective and interests. We have been to 27 of the 50 places listed and have several favorites in states including Arizona, Utah, Montana, Wyoming and New Mexico that are not anywhere near the route shown. It looks like a lot of driving that misses big chunks of the country. It says a computer algorithm planned the route, but not sure how they picked the destinations. In my opinion, there are many places at least as worthy as those they chose. At the pace we like to travel, I suspect timing of such a trip to avoid weather issues (both hot and cold) might be a challenge. One day at each location and one day of travel between each is 100 days. I didn't see anything about how long they planned for this trip to take and be enjoyable.

Howdy All,

Well, I guess we all have our own ideas of what would constitute the perfect road trip, that route is far from what mine would be and misses in my opinion many of the great places to see and visit then again it has on it many places I wouldn't want to go to or see so let the wandering begin.
