Technomadia
We noticed some changes to the WiFiRanger website last night with some new product offerings and pricing changes (higher for the Go2 and lower for the external antenna option). So we asked for more details and thought we'd share what we learned: http://www.rvmobileinternet.com/wifiranger-rejiggers-product-line-introduces-new-elite-changes-prices/ With their upcoming new firmware (which we've been beta testing.. it's looking awesome), exciting times! - Cherie Cherie & Chris (and Kiki *meow*) / Personal Blog: Technomadia.com Technomads (technology enabled nomads) since 2006Our Nomadic Fleet: RVs: Zephyr: 1961 GM 4106 bus conversion / Blooper: 2020.5 Winnebago Travato GL Boat: Y-Not: 1999 Bayliner 4788 Hosts of the Mobile Internet Resource CenterMobile Internet Information for RVers, Cruisers & Nomads Proud to be recognized as Escapee's Commercial Partners #773 / Escapees RVOU Instructors
Dennis M
We won a WiFi Ranger Mobile as a door prize at last year's Escapade (Thank you WiFi Ranger!!) and have been using it steadily for two months now on relatively week RV Park WiFI and it works great. Connects all of our devices seamlessly to the WiFi without constantly reconnecting. I highly recommend their products. docj
Technomadia has done a great job of summarizing the changes in the WiFiRanger product line. For those who already own a MobileTi, you can upgrade the performance of your system to nearly that of an Elite system by purchasing an upgraded XT antenna. WiFiRanger will supply the antenna with all necessary sealants to ensure a water-tight connection. If you use the WFR upgrade kit your lifetime warranty will be unaffected. Medico
$149.99 for the antenna seems rather steep. Even with the $20 rebate for returning the original antenna, this seems a high price to pay. TCW
For those that might be interested in more about the new hardware. It appears that the Elite is based on the MikroTik Routerboard Metal 2SHPn. Although MikroTik lists the power as 1600MW not 1000MW so the Elite may not be that exact model. The hardware for the Go and Go2 is a MikroTik product. The one that dies with the most toys is still dead!
