His older sister was the driver and they were on their way to Black Duck to visit their brother who was working for the CCC there. I'd never heard the term auto camp before. They set up a tent for their overnight there. If you having living elders, encourage them to tell you tales of their lives. They have some fascinating ones. You may learn they were a part of history that you never realized. I had not realized Dave's dad's love of camping started so young--he likely was not older than ten since he was born in 1923.
