What did you do to your bus today?

I guess so. I tried to pick times when the wind was light but not calm. Between about 3 MPH and 10 MPH it kept the bugs away without making it impossible to paint. And on the really hot days the basecoat dried so fast the bugs really never had a chance. The clear was another matter but I got away with it for the most part.

Today I bought (and installed) a natural oak toilet seat to use on our vintage Mansfield Traveler toilet. It was the last one the store had (the display) and it was marked down on clearance. It's slightly large for the bowl but the slight overhang makes it easier to lift the lid. It's a bit handy to be the person who makes the price changes. I knew we weren't getting anymore in and that the price had been lowered before.

getting the air brake mechanism Today, Holland will install it.

next task is to take it over the Glass place that did the windshield last time. Could not take the Coach then, so they cut the Glass smidgen to tight. Got it in but not the right way. this time they will have the frame to measure. then I am ready for a shake down cruise.

  • 2 weeks later...

an a more down to earth problems,

replacing the 6 front windshield flat glass that had been damage by vandals and fire of 2006.

Have a transmission place fix the leak of the dipstick that I messed up when I installed the new C6 in Feb 2007.

Replace a spring brake that went bad sometime since 1996.

Got the air brake pedal valve in but need someone to go over the complete system for leaks.

Get a replacement refrigerator that the Rats devastated.

Get a 40 gal end or side fill Propane mounted, to augment my two 10 gal's.

Get my rear Skylight replaced. Maybe put in a heat pump in place of it.

that is a good start for next week. ;)

Installed the Ventline V2215-2CW Exhaust Fan for the range vent. Beats the crap out of the worthless RV vent we had in the Class C.

What a difference, replace all 6 windshield glass, even found someone that caters to RVs. They had tinted Glass looks pretty spiffy. had them also replace the Door panels that had been kicked in.

  • 3 weeks later...

Finally got a new refer.

the RATS did a number on the old one in 2000 then in 2010. Then the fire of 2006.

Camping world had a 7 cubic for $999, Sams membership price.

Strange thing happened, my front passenger side Tire deflated. Pressure did not register but not flat enough for the split rim to come off.

lucky enough I have air hose so just inflated.

Going soon to get new front tires. Had these since 1996. going tubeless, so new wheels (rims) and tires $1,500 for both.

Theses are high milers that have not had more than 70,000 miles on them. tread is still good, but found a lesions in the the side wall of the driver side one.

put it on for 3 days.

all I have so far is a hacking cough from the fumes.

had to open side and front door at night so could sleep.

seat still won't budge.

Got the engine to turn over from starter switch. now to get it to run.

cleaning off the top of the engine cover is a real task. it double as a self.

Try hitting the frozen pivots with a heat gun or plumber's torch, then quench it with PB Blaster or Liquid Wrench. DO have a fire extinguisher handy when doing this!

Replaced both right rear tires (inside one badly checked, outside one also checked and with a big scuff)...two fresh GY circle-caps, one a Bridgestone M880 Snow Traction, one a Doublecoin RR150.

finally replaced the foot valve, and cut the slack nut that holds the pedal against the valve.

they found a leak in the lines and repaired that.

now have 125 lbs pressure and not brake drag.

coach has not run so smooth since I have had it.

looking forward to better gas mileage.

Installed a wall & hung/installed the LP space heater (bought in 2004... great little heater) permanently on the wall so we now have a heater in the bathroom/dressing room section. At last, we can toss the box it came in (we packed it up during the summers). Started putting together the fluid heater side of the hydronic heat system.

Is it a vented heater, or a ventless catalytic?

LOL I got four catalytic heater the stopped working after one winter. they were the adjustable heat type and the circuit board fried.

Have now, a 4 element infrared heater powered by propane that I got two years ago. Really like it, but the tiles are warring. trying to find a source for tiles for replacement and want to make a hydronic system using these tiles.

I have been driving blind the last few weeks so to speak.

the Rats did a number on the wiring, and the fire of 2006 took out the hoses to the hardware gauges.

so my project is to get the hoses rebuilt and patch the wiring.

be nice to have oil pressure and engine temps, at least. see if I can get tranny temp in as well.

currently control fans with a switch, hopefully get the engine temp switch to work. add an LED on the panel to let me see when it kicks in.

I do not think sleeping comfort has anything to do with being spoiled. We have a heated mattress pad that never comes off the bed except to be washed.

Due to local we have used it during must months of the year.
