.... I spent the whole sum of $13.50 and wasted about 3 hours. .... I think I use tomorrow to get a hair cut.

Well, you're certainly slow getting rid of $13.50. I can drop that amount of $$$ much faster here at a casino in Vegas.

I got a haircut today but still have lots of hair left.

We need to pull out of our slot next week but we still have no idea where we're going. The weather just isn't very nice much farther north. It's snowing in Utah, snowing in Reno and raining in central California!! Eek!!

Terry's in Portland and reminded me we did not want to move up there too fast or we'll be running our furnace lots. He said he forgot how March felt there. His oncology report was good ... Yippee!!

Great news about Terry!

Do remember how much you got in a hurry to go north last year then regretted it. Maybe you should go east some to kill time before you go north. Then you can take a different route and see lots of new things to keep you from traveling quite so fast. You know how vehicles get once they point towards home. You'd think they were horses headed for the barn. Well, they sort of are, I guess. :)

You could go see Freddie & Delcie then Steve & Carol on your way north.

Actually, we had no choice last year. We had to hurry north for doctor appointments and surgery last spring. However, going east to go north there's a lot of cold, cold weather that direction too. Besides, Terry has several appointments scheduled 2 weeks apart through April and into May that we have to be close to a major airport. That kind of sucks. We have to make up our mind in about another 4 days since they'll kick us out of this park then. Maybe we should just go out for a week and then back in. At least that would give the warm weather a chance to catch up. Hmmmm. You're right ... maybe I should just say giddyup when we pull out. When spring starts to get here I'm ready to head towards all the lakes, rivers and ocean in the Northwest.

SO Happy to hear about Terry's good health.

It is warming upand the sun is shining nearly daily but we are still running our furnace and heaters fairly regularly. We are getting about one propane tank a week. It remains to be seen how much the electricity will be. I guess we will find out on Sunday when we pay for another month. Omigod, we have been here a month.

Way to go Terry! I think I'll just go into the casino and have an "Ice Cream" in your honor. If I can find the darn machine :)

The weather here is warming up. It was 90 here yesterday, but today it's back in the 70's. Don't know if we'll have another freeze or not. The trees are starting to leaf out. We can always have another cold snap here at this time of year. I was at the old house yesterday and actually mowed the lawn. :o The weeds were getting pretty high and I decided to see if the mower would start and it did!

You know what - we haven't heard from Shadowtracks in quite a while. They seemed to have disappeared into that reserve in NM. Hi guys - how is the workcamping going?

I know there are a lot of you out there that hopefully are at least lurking. Sure would be nice to have a post every once in awhile so we know how everybody is doing.

Jim's been fishing - but yesterday he said there were just too many people and boats out there so he's not going out today. It's going to cool down a little bit here today - only mid 80's which is nicer than the 90's we've been having.

Same problem ever spring, anxious to head north but, never sure what surprise mother nature has in store.

If you are just looking for a place to hangout for week. I suggest the SKP Co-op in Pahrump. There isn't much to do here but it is quiet and cheaper than Las Vegas. Also you would be close enough to visit Death Valley as a day trip. I think they have open sites but, you might give them a call before you head over the hill.

Hey Terry Look over this way, I have both thumbs up for you. Way to go man.

Steve: Just what the heck is a lawn Mower????????

Well I got my hair cut today and he did leave a few uncut. It was a new guy at Wally World and he didn't really know what he was doing. He had to keep asking the Gal there how to do this and that. It don't look too bad though and it will grow out faster than I really want it to. About all I have left to do now before moving out is take a bath, Fill the Fresh waster tank and empty the Black tank and hit the road. I have a lot of thing I have to take care of the 1st of April. I hope Truth or Consequences. NM has a wally world so I can fill a prescription.

We've been having weather in the High 80's also but it cools to the low 40's each night and don't really get warm until noon each day.

Well it looks like I picked the right days to travel. The wind was calm and the sun was bright. However someone forgot to tell me about the Salt River gorge on 60. But Millie and I made it through that without breaking a sweat. Did have to put on my truck drivin hat though. I would not recommend that road to any overload or no "Jake" brake.

The Duramax has a transmission retarder and it worked like a charm.

Since I've been here I have experienced what the local weather man calls breezy. 15 to 20 with gusts to 35. Just enough to blow my hat off if I'm not paying attention. I'm looking forward to getting that 40' container next week. It will make a good wind break. I guess if I'm going to keep up with the Joneses I should paint "CASITA" on the side.

Actually, that was or really still might be an option. We were in Pahrump last year. However, we "may" go to Zion National Park and St. George next week and then come back to Las Vegas for a couple nights while Terry makes another flight to Phoenix. Then, we're thinking we might head towards Pahrump ... maybe. At least we'd have the option of leaving via Reno or via California later. Of course, everything is subject to weather. And, this time of year weather can be a real challenge.

IYQ, yeah, that "lawn mower thing". I tripped over it while inspecting the house, it had instructions taped to it, so I made a mistake and read them. Before I knew it, I was riding the thing with a cold one in my hand and the rest is history. I hope I don't have to make a habit of it!! :P

One thing about being back here is we could "borrow" our steam cleaner back for a while and today we used it to clean the carpets in BessyBus. They were sure needing it and they smell so fresh. We wiped down the woodwork too and now are to tired to do anything to the outside. We are going to SW Oklahoma next week, as Carol has a photography conference in Lawton. Maybe I can get a little fishing time in while she's consorting with the photography folks.. I caught a couple of bass in the creek behind the MH yesterday, so I know they're biting. Weather here today is stormy looking, but no rain and 65 degrees with a little breeze. You can sure feel the difference in the humidity though. They have some of that here. :o Not very many trucks here this weekend, so it's quiet down on our end of the casino. Hope everyone is having fun.. Steve

Steve, You talk scarry. I sounded like you actually broke all the rules of full timing and worked.

Jeri, You better check the weather in Zion, It's been snowing this week there. Oops, I said that word. Sorry folks

Well I've got just about everything done I can get done for pulling out Monday morning. I've hooked up the hoses and dumped the tanks and refilled them about half way with rinse water. Then filled the Freshwater tank. Tomorrow I'll wait till evening and dump the tanks again and put away the hoses and hookup the truck. I hope I still remember how.

Dave, are you trying to scare me off with all that talk about wind? I probably won't get that far north for about a month to six weeks so you better get a big wind break for me. No I didn't say break wind for me.

It's been WHAT in Zion????? St. George looks good but that was a few days ago. Thanks. I'll check on it again. It was sure windy and cool here today. I even think it's supposed to rain for the next couple of days. I don't like cold. I don't like wind. I don't like rain. I like it perfect but haven't figured out where perfect is yet.

Edit. Edit.

St. George is about 20 miles from the entrance to Zion at Springdale. Springdale weather forecast is something else. Temperatures in the 40's and a chance of snow by next weekend is forecast!!! You all know 40 degrees is not something we do well. So, I just got out the chalk and erased that. Where to go? Where to go?

Well,,, it's been awhile since we've posted; we've made the circuit from SJ to Q to PHX, Yuma, Q & back again, barely got abit of the flavor of the snowbird season,,, mostly stealth-mode and visiting dentists, tho we did connect with some friends in Yuma; made new friends in Q at the (small) PA park there -- maybe will visit on the way back to SJ for final doctor visits & grand-kid b'days in April.

Will continue our "normal" March gig here in Mesa (this being our 8th year visiting for March) until it's time to head back to SJ via Q, Temecula, Ventura (we can never get enough of our ocean visits, right on the beach), hope to "lighten the storage load" while in SJ for a couple weeks before heading off to Ohio to visit Mom (maybe for Mother's Day,,, tho she doesn't really know what day any day is anymore).

Will try to drop by to see E&K over at Valle Del Oro, sometime this next week.

I always get a chuckle of the weather folks in this area. Yesterday they said it would be "breezy". Of course the towns in this area are built along the river valley which is at a lower altitude. There it might have been breezy. BUT up here on the plateau it was blowing. What really gets my attention is Monday they are forecasting "windy". Winds in excess of 40 with gust up to 60. To us that means a major wind storm. We may well see winds steady at 50 or 60 and gust that will be off the charts. In the past folks up here have lost trailers and mobile homes with that type of event.

I have some running around to do today. But before the day is over, I'll hook up, turn around, and head the rig toward the southwest. It's built to take heavy wind on or near the nose and with a 7000lb anchor (truck) tied to the nose, it won't go anywhere.

Checkin in from Acton California!

It's been raining all day here and the creeks are running pretty fast. Just went to the small market here in Acton.

We are sitting with our generator running as the power in the park is bad and to top it off our batteries aren't charging. Don't know if its the batteries or the freedom power intervter/charger thats gone bad. Pray it stops raining tomorrow so we can take the batteries and have them checked first.

Had a good weekend with the kids and grandkids though. Spent yesterday shopping for prom dresses for granddaughter. Why is a 17 yr old girl so picky!@!! She did finally find something though so that was good.

Ed, could it be the breaker on the inverter or the generator that tripped?

Well I'm all hooked up and ready to head out in the morning for Truth or Consequenses. Dave is trying to scare me off with all that wind talk but I'm going to stay on lower ground for a while and hope I don't get blown back to Deming or farther south. (And I don;t speak Spanish) We are supposed to get some winds here tomorrow afternoon but I'll be long gone by then. I'll probably get it anyway at Caballo Lake. Oh well, that's part of the west where the wind blows free.

We tried the breaker on the inverter/charger first thing. The generator isn't tripped because there is power coming into the motorhome.

My brother turned my charger off by accident one time. I didn't notice it until the batterys were almost dead. Sounds like the charger part of the inverter may be bad. I'll still pray though! Steve
