  1. Hey Classmates, As we won't be traveling anymore, we wanted to "beg" you all to come visit us in beautiful Summerland, BC. We have a big driveway and power and water will be available. We are in the heart of wine country and would be happy to tour you around. So please think about it. We miss you all. Toni
  2. I don't want to feel like a stranger here. I treasure the friendships that we made on the road. Dearest friends MERRY MERRY CHRISTMAS. HAPPY 2020 (can you believe it) We may not be able to travel anymore but there is plenty of room in our driveway. Please come visit. Much love!!
  3. So well-written Jeri. We will miss the map but you are right. With Facebook we usually know where everyone is. Thanks for giving us this app Dave and thank you for paying for it Jeri.
  4. Doug and I remember Lee fondly. We have several things that he gave to Doug for putting the boxes in the back of his pickup. We remember what a great "fire-master" he was. Gone but definitely not forgotten. Toni
  5. Huh, strange coincidence. Our son, Jason, the electrician, also fell from his ladder (it broke) and he broke his pelvis and four ribs. That was 2 1/2 months ago. He was in hospital for a week and then in bed at home until 2 weeks ago when his doctor told him he was well enough to get up. Today he is in Disneyworld. He isn't great and is using a scooter to get around. Sure hope he doesn't wreck himself. Make sure Stacey listens to her doctor and does what he says. Well wishes coming her way. We are still waiting for the illusive neurology appointment. We did go to the GP last week and we trust that he is on the case. I have good days and bad days. I watch a lot of tv but I make dinner everyday. Granted I start preparing about 3 and sometimes Doug has to finish up. He is great. He looks after me so well. I hate losing my independence but I am getting used to be spoiled. We will be travelling again sometime in the fall/winter. We miss you all.
  6. Not to be left out, here we are, the Lairds. Living our life in paradise. Yes folks this area is paradise. Warm (today is 27*c which is 80.6*F) and green. Doug has planted a massive garden, mostly in planters and pots on our two decks. We have had to learn about what deer won't eat and plant accordingly. We are eating lettuce and spinach already and have a ton of herbs. This is not forever. Once I get my medical issues fixed up, and the garden is done, we will be on the road. Not full-time mind you but we will be in Arizona this fall/winter and are so looking forward to seeing the old gang. In the meantime, if anyone wants to escape the hot, hot temperatures, it might be cooler here. We have a huge driveway and would love to see you. We may meet up with some before then. As for my medical issue, we have to be patient and wait for the specialist. We were at the GP this morning and he assures us that he is doing everything to get it hurried up. In the meantime, my mobility sucks and I have NO energy, but alas no Italian accent. Love to you all.
  7. Happy New Year friends traveling or not. Be safe. Hugs!
  8. Merry Christmas Class of 2008 and 2009. We may not be with you but you are in our hearts. Be safe and have fun.
  9. Responding for Doug and I, we had no issue with you wanting "alone" time. At times, in fact, we thought that you were lonely and wanted company. We made arrangements to cook for you at Craggy Rock in Lake Havasu. I sewed curtains for your little rig. The lifestyle that we all have chosen allows for many scenarios; anywhere from huge crowds like at Quartzsite, medium get togethers with 4 or 5 rigs to alone time. We often follow the Quartzsite experience with being out somewhere alone. As most of you know, our youngest son has autism and stresses at lot at social events. He knows to take them in small doses. We all understand.
  10. Jeff - I don't want to know about the "fart" part but you are not old. Cheers to you and Tina. Hope to see you sometime. Toni and Doug
  11. Well friends I think it's pretty certain we won't be going south this winter. We are enjoying our beautiful home. Yes the snow line is creeping down the mountain sides but we are comfortable. "Comfortable" means something different for each of us but 2 wood burning fireplaces and lots of hot chocolate is good for us right now. We still have our motor home and no decision about whether or not we keep it will be made until spring. We are thinking over the possibilities; truck and camper, travel by car and renting in Arizona. At this point, neither of us has hitch-itch. We did go to Vancouver Island last week and we are going to visit David in Olympia, Washington soon. Having said this, I give you all a cordial invitation to visit us anytime. We have a huge driveway and plenty of room in the house. I will miss you all, terribly.
  12. We are back from a short, but long trek half way across the country to see our daughter and her family. Nice seeing the family but we were just so anxious to be back in our new digs that we raced back. Putting the motor home in dry dock until at least January. Anyone heading this way, or close by, come visit before the snow flies. Apparently we don't get much snow in Summerland.
  13. We will be moving to the other side of the lake starting today. It's 5.1 km if we could go by boat but about 20 km by road. After we are all settled in the new house, we are going east to visit our daughter in Manitoba. This will be the motor home's maiden voyage really because all the overnighters don't really count. About 2 weeks is all for now.
  14. Great. Look what a little prod did. So good to hear from y'all.
  15. This is still a really nice place for us to chat. Private and personal.
