DKRITTER
We have recently added a Wingard Trav'ler to our 5th wheel and are very please with it. I wanted to get a better reciever for when we use the trailer and contacted Dish to get something like a 722. They said the only reciever that would work was the 211 and I think they do not know what they are talking about. We don't use the trailer enough to justify another Hopper (which we have at home) so what are some of the alternatives? Just use the Hopper from your house in your RV -- as long as it's not a Hopper 3. Mark and Dale Bruss
Few Dish CSRs are RV aware and there in nothing in their scripts for RV questions. Too often, the CSR will swing to a VIP-211Z with a Tailgatter dish. A Trav'ler will work with any Dish receiver except the Hopper 3. Yes, I know, but since OP just bought his Travler, he probably doesn't want to invalidate his warranty. Besides, OP has a Hopper with Sling. Dutch_12078
I have a Hopper/Sling at the house, Dish said this would not work in a RV why wouldn't it? Dish does not support using a Hopper in an RV, but that does not mean it won't work. They are of the opinion that any receiver with a hard drive is not suited to RV use, but too many of us are doing just that to be concerned about it. Your Hopper will work fine with the Trav'ler, just don't forget to install a Solo Node with it. Big5er
There are literally tons of 722's available on Ebay. Just get a new one and avoid the used ones that might have issues. Or check Amazon, plenty of re-manufactured units on there. Dale P
Hopper, Joey, Solo Node, Winegard Sk-1000 Installed all myself. Once installed, with 2 cables run from Tap to Living room and another to bedroom. Call a Dish installed (Found on web in the area we were at). Explained what I wanted (Hopper, Joey), said all was done only needed the 2 items installed. Came out installed the 2 boxes Said his was the easiest he had done. As for warranty? don't know what you are talking about. Bought Dish service equipment, no problem. Even had a service call one time.
