DJW Posted July 3, 2015 Report Share Posted July 3, 2015 For those that have had both is there much difference in the Win 8 vs Win 8.1 phone OS? Bought GD a New Win 8.1 phone yesterday and was now thinking about getting her a "My Windows phone 8" how to book but was not sure if there is that much difference between the two OS's. She is 13 and has had several smart phones but never a windows phone. I am probably overthinking this and she will figure it out in 5 min's. She has had a laptop with Win 8.1 on it for 18 months or so. Should I just leave her alone to figure it out? Dennis USA Master Sergeant Ret. Also there are going to be bigger changes when we all switch to Windows Phone 10 in the next month or two. Basic operations are the same with WP8.1 as WP8, they just improved updates and added Cortana. They dropped "Rooms" and separated from Here+ and the Radio source. All are still there just new owners. Here+ is great navigation. As good or better than Android/Google.
