ESCAPADE BEGINS IN JUST 1 MONTH!

The earliest of the key staff positions are probably already there. Most of the chair positions will be arriving on March 12, with other staff positions coming in a few days before Escapade opens on the 19th.

The Cantina(a restaurant on the fair grounds) will be open for lunch and dinner, plus the bar will be open.

Concessions will generally be open from 7:30 to 2:00ish. We should have at least 2 food concessions , maybe 3.

But bring food just in case. One year there was only one concession and it was so understaffed we couldn't get lunch before our next seminar. A mention to Angie Carr resulted in more staff so they probably look closer at that now.

It is the official rack card that is being used to promote Escapade and I received it from Duane & Jean Mathes, Escapade Directors. Those cards are hardly large enough to list every event, seminar, and activity.

nana25k, did you note there are 2 columns and the one with the items you mention are under Sedalia Mo 2018?

I did, but I've barely finished this Escapade and haven't begun to think about Sedalia Craft area.?

Well of course not. Just would hate for people to expect things that aren't happening

The posted picture is of a rack card, usually about the same physical size as the image and for use in public information racks like found in rest areas and welcome centers. They probably have two dates and locations to be useful for two years....... The two columns of information on activities are intended to be a general listing of what will be found in any/all Escapades and not a complete brochure.

If you have never attended an Escapade, that card can give you some good, general information about what happens but not even the complete brochure can list everything. I shared that rack card in an effort to promote the total event and hope that everyone can get a small feel for what happens there. It is a great opportunity for everyone to experience the friendly atmosphere found in most any Escapee gathering and even a book couldn't cover everything. Some of the best parts of Escapade are the gatherings that happen impromptu in the campgrounds and parking lots and the publicity doesn't even mention that side of things. There is so much happening that nobody can participate in everything so expect to be busy and to have a great time.

That was a big frustration at our first Escapade; we didn't know enough yet to know what to choose. But, NEVER miss the evening entertainment if you can help it. What fun!

I was wondering what takes place on the day before the seminars 19th, and the day after 24th? There is nothing showing what takes place on those days even though they are Escapade days.

Sunday is the main arrival day - unless you've signed up for early arrival or are attending a pre-event like Boot Camp or Camp Reboot you'll come into the Fairgrounds Sunday morning. The Awesome Parking Crew will direct you to your space, after you're set up, bring your E-Ticket to Registration and get your name badge, program guide and goody bag.

Mid-day is the First Timer's Orientation, followed by the Opening Ceremonies and Ice Cream Social. Native Spirit will provide the evening entertainment.

Friday is departure day. There will be a Hitch Up Breakfast to get you going, then you'll leave unless you've signed up to stay additional nights.

Just to add a bit to what Lou said, the vendor area is also open from 9 am to 3 pm on Sunday. Also because departure day is so busy, many of us choose to spend an extra night on the grounds and find some local attraction to visit in the afternoon of departure day and then leave the following morning. Smart Weigh is normally available on Friday so you may want to make an appointment with them for that day. There is always a very large traffic jam for the dump station early on departure day so if you aren't fond of waiting in line, do not plan to leave immediately after the breakfast. Even if you skip breakfast you are still highly likely to find a line to dump. That is usually the biggest bottleneck in the entire rally.

EDIT; I added market open times fo 9-3.

Thanks for the info, I will be driving my parents to the Escapade and we will be staying at a hotel and we will just get walk up week long tickets, neither they or I have a RV yet. I will be evaluating my choices and talking to people about what I want/like for my travels starting later in the year. I hope to buy truck/RV sometime around May.

My parents as mentioned on another thread will be looking too but my step father is in a wheelchair and so they will be seeking out those who travel with special accommodations/renovations to see if they can peruse some RV traveling.

We plan to travel from Austin TX on Friday 17th and 18th mostly and leave Sunday as a maybe travel day. I just wanted to know how much was going on to see if we should leave earlier so we are there for the whole day or if activities were later in the day we can leave that day (Sunday) open to some light travel. We will likely stay in the hotel until the 26th so not issue with leaving.
