Mobility Scooter preferences?

Recommended Posts

Wife has a "run of the mill" inexpensive scooter - performs well, but it's not really that convenient for RVing,

Noticed in a thread (different topic) a poster (Linda Sand?) commented on TravelScoot.

Wondering who uses/prefers which brand, recommendations, opinions, etc.??

Thanks for your input & comments.

As you noticed, I really like my TravelScoot. But it is 3-wheeler not a 4-wheeler so it does not qualify as a mobility device under Medicare rules. I paid out-of-pocket for mine. Plus, you need to be able to stand and walk a bit to use a TravelScoot. It is not stable enough to do a direct transfer. But being foldable and weighing only 34 pounds makes it easier to load/unload into an RV or toad. I'm fortunate in that I don't have to fold mine to fit it into the back of our CRV; just swivel the seat to clear the hatchback.

Daughter has used the travel scoot for probably 5 yrs or more. Loves it. She's a full timer and uses it all the time. Gets lots of offers to buy it too, she says. She's been at my place since Christmas (everyone likes SW FL in the winter) and had damaged part of the frame by backing her MH into it. That and the front wheel was pretty much tread free so she ordered a new part for the bent frame and a new wheel and I repaired it for her. Really well built and sturdy but the parts fit just fine and every thing looks and works like new.

Then
The puller - Wiers Towmaster (Int'l 4700LP)
and pusher - 40' Travel Supreme

Now

30' Winnebago Aspect TS

Have been very happy with a Honda AERO 80 that I put on a rack on the back of the RV. Runs good and will carry two people. Bought it for my daughter many years ago and just kept it. Works for me.
