Ford F150 2.7ecoboost feedback

We have a travel trailer registration weight 5220 GVWR 7200 - looking to match up new truck without overkill/expense.

Thinking about F150 V6 2.7ecoboost 3.73 axle ratio. Book says GCWR 13,200; super cab max trailer weigh 8,300. Has anyone had experience with similar trailer stats above, pulling it out West through the mountains?

No experience with that particular combination, but you have to look at more than just the GCWR and the Max Tow Rating. The GCWR 13200 minus the trailer GVWR of 7200 leaves 6000# for the weight of the truck. What will the truck weigh loaded with all the passengers and any other cargo? Add the truck's loaded weight to the GVWR of the trailer and see if you are still under the GCWR. Add 720# for the hitch weight of the trailer to the loaded weight of the truck and see if you are under the GVWR for the truck. If you are close to the GVWR then you should check the rear axle weight or better yet all four corner weights to see if you are over the axle and or tire weight ratings. If you are close to the truck's maximum weight ratings your towing experience especially on steep grades West or East may not be very pleasant.
