  3. We are also domiciled in FL with FL DL, etc. I had to do this through a dealer in CO. I called the tax collector in Sumter County who explained everything to the dealer and they handled it. If you call them a real person will answer the phone and walk you through it. In our case, the dealer filled out the paperwork when we bought the car in CO. We sent a check to FL for the applicable taxes and they sent the plates to the dealer via USPS.
  4. SINCE POSTING THIS 2/23 MY OPINION HAS CHANGED. OUR HITCH HAD A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE RIGHT BEFORE WE DEPARTED AN OVERNIGHT STOP. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HITCH TO ANYONE. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND THAT IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING THIS HITCH TO GET IT REPLACED. WE WERE VERY FORTUNATE THAT PEOPLE DIDN'T DIE. IF THIS HAD FAILED 15 MINUTES LATER IT WOULD HAVE BEEN HORRIBLE. WE WENT BACK TO A TRAILERSAVER. WAITING FOR DELIVERY AS WE SPEAK. We currently have a CR 245 and are very happy with it. We had a TrailerSaver on our last truck and we were very happy with that as well. The main reason we went with CR was the lack of air bags, compressor, etc. It was just one less thing to worry about. If I had to choose one over the other I would pick the TrailerSaver but as you say, "You have a chance to upgrade", it sounds like it's not an either or proposition.
  5. We have always had FL Blue Select since ACA started and we have never had a problem. We are domiciled in Bushnell but we have never seen doctors there. The main reason we chose the Select Plan was to have access to a nationwide network while we're traveling around the country. In FL we see docs in Tampa, Gainesville and near the Villages. We have never run into a situation where we couldn't see the doc we wanted. They've always been in network. The select plan has worked out well and has been tested when some bones have needed setting far from FL.
  6. We have found that doctors in FL are already used to a transient population given all of the people from the northeast who have been spending "the season" in FL for decades. We have never had a problem with doctors writing prescriptions for the entire year with a follow up yearly. They write a 90 day scrip with 3 refills. Rinse and repeat. This has worked for my wife who only has one prescription and for me with many. My wife has very few health issues and I have more than a couple of specialists that I see. We return to FL once a year to make the rounds and see all of our doctors. We are both pre-medicare (soon to change) and use an ACA FL Blue Select plan. As our health needs change so will the time that we spend in state and we may change some things as we approach 65 but for now it works for us. We've been domiciled in FL and fulltime for well over 5 years.
  7. I would assume that the proof would be your vaccine card. That seems to be the only way to prove it. Someone had even suggested that it could be a picture of your vaccine card that would be on your phone. Again, I'm just trying to verify the rumor. Let's just say that the opinion around the fire was disbelief and dismay.
  8. Is it true that proof of vaccine is now required to attend Escapees sponsored events? This was going around the campfire last night and needed to verify. Does this include clubhouse events as well (social hours, card games, etc, dominoes, etc)? Asking for a friend. : )
  9. There used to be but it's been over a year since we used it. Some of the older sites in the trees had services that weren't operable so they use them for storage. Can't beat the price, $1 a day. We stored our rig there for 3 weeks while traveling overseas but this over a year ago. Give them a call to find out as I seem to remember hearing that they were working on improving those sites and may be renting them out. I'd be curious to hear what you find out.
  10. Kirk, I appreciate you sharing the information that is on FB.
  11. Please keep these folks in your prayers. They're going to need a great deal of help to recover from this. I didn't see any other posts about this so I thought I would share. https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2021/04/30/heavy-rainfall-high-winds-and-large-hail-devastate-hondo-mobile-home-community/
  12. I just happened to clean my pretty dirty truck today with Wax Wash All. I've been using it for about 6 months. Does a great job. When I do the truck I take it to a self wash and give it a good spray down and then come back and complete the job. Looks great. Took a little over an hour to complete.
