MilesAndSmiles
My wife and I are shopping for a used Class A, and we are befuddled by where the manufacturers place the TVs. With few exceptions they TV in the living area is mounted a) Behind the dinette, facing toward the front of the coach, or Above the cab, facing the back of the coach. Meanwhile, the sofa is on one side wall facing the other. For those of you who live with either of these TV placements... How do you watch TV or movies? Do you have to sit in the dinette? Does one of you lie lengthwise on the couch while the other sites in a captains chair? Have you found a workaround where you can sit *together* and watch TV? This seems like a small issue, but since we plan to spend months at a time on the road it has become a big deal. But, having a TV mounted across from the couch is so rare that insisting on that eliminates 90% of the coaches that fit our other specifications - in particular our need for bunks. So, it's a lifestyle question. How do you handle the typical TV locations when you are living in your RV? 2004 Fleetwood Southwind 37A Retired and loving it! www.milesandsmiles.us
Kirk W
In the motorhome that we lived in for nearly 12 years, the TV was at roughly 90° to the couch and my chair was across from the couch but would swivel toward the TV. Pam typically does sprawl on the couch so it really was of little problem. In looking over the websites of both Newmar and Tiffin, I see quite a few floor plans that have the TV across from the couch and with other seating in view of it. Models with multiple slides have many more options than did those like mine which had no slides. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years...... scouserl41
That's one of the big reasons we bought our Rexhall, a really well thought out floor plan with the TV across from the sofa and recliner! sandsys
That also one of the reasons we bought our former 2010 Winnebago 34Y. The TV was built on a lift in the buffet directly across from the sofa. If you've been reading this forum for long you know I always check every floor plan for TV placement. We rarely watch real TV but we do love Netflix. Biker56
I bought a MH with a couch across from a love seat. Took the love seat out. Still use the front overhead TV to watch from the kitchen table. 46" Smart LED TV, Home surround sound stereo, DirecTV Genie, Blue Ray DVD player, VCR, PC all in one printer in the same area. Mark and Dale Bruss
One of the reasons we choose a Bounder 33C was the location of the main TV mounted across from the sofa. We opted out the sofa and installed a La-Z-Boy reclining loveseat. rambler62
We took our TV from the front above the drivers area and moved it to above the door across from the sofa and I made a cabinet for the maps and such where the TV was. Works for us.

Biker56
The TV has 2 screws through the stand into the top of the entertainment center. The DirecTV Genie, AM21, Home stereo, etc. has those TV Grips holding them. Speakers have Velcro holding them.
