Looking for an RV park near Nogales, AZ

Recommended Posts

I don't know that this is the right place for this but......

I have temporarily un-retired and accepted a nine month assignment in Nogales, AZ and am looking for an RV site to be based out of starting in August. The budget is fairly open as the company offered to rent us a furnished apartment or home in lieu of staying in our RV home. We are looking for a place within 30 minutes of Nogales, with full hook-ups, with opportunities for decent walks/hikes nearby, that is friendly, and that is okay with us having a 26 lb dog. We would prefer to be away from I-19 if possible, but that is not a requirement. Patagonia, Mountain View, and De Anza are on the radar and will be visited this weekend. Does anyone know of anything else in the area that we should look at? An RV park or on a ranch would be ok....maybe even a fairgrounds.

We appreciate any help we can get. Thanks.

We're familiar with DeAnza and would recommend them. The people are friendly, they have activities and an indoor pool. There's also a restaurant on site. Green Valley is close for major grocery shopping and WalMart. Mountain View is pretty run down. Patagonia RV is a tiny town and not much to do but the area is pretty. The RV park is small and if full, the sites are close together. Good luck!

This was posted recently on the Volunteer site. If you are working in Nogalas perhaps your wife could help out here and you'd get your site free in an awesome facility.

Thanks for the quick response.

We did like the Patagonia area but their full hook-up sites are full and the sites are small. De Anza was the best park by far and we will most likely end up there. An interesting one we found yesterday after talking to some people in Tubac was the Flying W RV Park run by a lady named "Jif". Her park is small and secluded at her home with just a few sites......nothing special other than the town and tight tree-overhung road getting there, but it would be nice if you had a smaller rig and wanted to camp near Tubac, which is an extremely "artsy crafty" little community.

I have volunteered with US Fish & Wildlife and nature conservancies and really enjoy that type of work. This would be a great option....but unfortunately, I have the commitment in Nogales and my wife has a full time job with a hospital via the Internet so we can't commit that many extra hours. But thanks for bringing this opportunity to light; I will keep it on my radar for future reference and will stop by to check out the Preserve.

Thanks again.

I just looked up the Flying W and yes, it is unique. :) The price is great but I agree, it's more for a smaller RV. Tubac is a fun place when they have their festivals. Have a great winter in the area. We love it!
