1. Are there dump stations on the exposition center grounds?

2. On what day(s) Is the pump-out service scheduled?

3. What time on the 29th or 30th do we have to be off the grounds?

Will the dump stations be available for use on the day we arrive (for us, July 23)?

The reason that the information states that you should arrive with your waste tanks empty and your water tank full. We just do not have time to run RV's through the dump station. I'll check with the Bob & Molly, just to verify this. As one who is involved in the parking operation, for the dump station to be used as you arrive, it would need to be somewhere outside of the entrance because there isn't time to run RVs through while we are parking them.

A great deal depends upon the facility and how it is set up and I have not yet seen this one.

Thank you Kirk!

While it is preferred, requested, and makes parking 700+ rigs much easier and faster if folks don't have to line up for the dump station, the dump stations will be available if necessary, for folks to dump on arrival. You will be diverted from the parking que to a dump station line, then return to the line when completed.

As Kirk stated, it makes arrival much faster, safer, and easier for all involved if folks arrive with empty waste tanks and full fresh water. (Can you imagine the back-up if everyone needed to dump and then fill tanks with 700 rigs waiting to do so? )

So thanks in advance to all who are able to accommodate this! It is appreciated by all volunteers, staff, and other attendees! But the dump station is available,as there are folks that may not have other options :)

That probably isn't critical as it would be without, but since the instructions are generic, full is better than empty. We will probably fill up the night before also, even though we too have w/e & pump-out. I'm also bringing along my "blue boy" tank as well, just for security. A full potable water tank is a little bit of security until you get things situated. You may have a longer run for power and water or something of that sort.

Just to be sure, I'll also be bringing a heavy-duty extension cord for the power, just to be sure. Mos fairground's camping areas are not so well laid out as a typical RV park.

We signed up for pump out service but I read that it would be Tuesday or Wednesday. I was wondering if we had a choice or could have it later in the week.

I just checked and those two days are the only ones that they will be on site. We are coming in a day early as staff. As mentioned, I'll have my "blue-boy" for plan B.

For what it is worth... we called and signed up for pump out service today, and the person with whom we spoke at the Escapades signup said that the fairgrounds dump station would NOT be available to Escapade participants.

Post #6 is authored by the Escapade directors who are in charge of the entire program and who make such decisions. They are now on site at the Expo Center for duration, while the folks on the phone work in the office in Livingston. :)

I just noticed the new seminar schedule on the Escapade web page. It says SAMPLE so I was wondering if it really means SAMPLE or is just a tentative schedule that could change? I'm also curious if any of the seminars are repeated? There are several that I would like to attend that are at the same time and other times that I don't have any that I am interested in.

I am in the final stages of my route planning and looking forward to my first Escapade.

I'll do some checking to verify, but I'm pretty sure that you are correct that it is one which could change. Looking at it, I suspect any change would be minor as I know that several of them are "for sure."

As to seminars being repeated, not usually. I believe that it has been done a few times with subjects of particularly wide interest, but only one time that I can think of. Of course, one of the tentative could also be times and locations, so the conflicting ones may change. Many couples separate with each one covering different subjects to get more information.

Thanks Kirk. There are several times where I would like to attend 2 seminars while my wife is at a third one. I will get the details and email Molly. If enough people ask I could get lucky and they might repeat the ones I want.

Pegwillen. This is my first escapade bUt I have been outside Pennsylvania many times. I still work so we typically do long weekends in the North Eastern states. That will change next year when I retire

It really isn't as simple as you may think to repeat seminars. In order to do that you must first get the speaker to agree, then find a place to hold their seminar, or cancel one from someone else. And the one you cancel will be one that another person wanted you to schedule twice. As I mentioned, the schedule is now set and isn't likely to be modified because it would be impossible to meet the preferences of everyone. At some point you have to just do the very best that you can and move ahead.

But don't panic yet as you have not seen the finalized schedule as yet. It should be up very soon.

No panic here. Just like to get as much information as I can. I'm a big fan of learning from others that made mistakes or know Better ways to do things. Do you know if there will be any vendors selling merchandise? I'm looking for several items in preparation for going full time next year.

If we are attending the Bootcamp, is it still necessary to have full fresh water tanks? Husband is asking.

Thanks, CathyinMB

What is your parking designation?? Are you water/electric? If so then you just need empty gray & black tanks. Your parking tag indicates what you should do as well as the emails you have been recieving

Will their be any vendors available for light maintenance issues? Last year at the FMCA rally in Madison, Wisc, HWH was present and replaced my driver side front jack and we also purchased a Winegard G2 portable satellite and had it setup.

If you have a site with water & electric, or full hookup, then no need to do so.

There are vendors at most Escapades who will do installations and some who also do repairs, but there are no vendors who are there as RV repair suppliers. The list of vendors/exhibitors is now available on the website. At all of the Escapades that we have attended there have been some Escapee commercial members in attendance who do RV service work, but none have registered as vendors so it will be a gamble to say if they will be there this year and you would have to find a way to contact them yourself, if one of them should attend.
