  1. Best RV experience... The next trip, always the next trip! Each new outing brings new excitement and adventure. Love the lifestyle.
  2. Would a Freightliner M2-112 work for you? I have a 2006 SportChassis M2-112, MBE 4000 Mercedes engine (pre-emissions, no regen, no DEF) and TRV 4000 Allison 6 speed automatic transmission. We just retired and thinking about down sizing from a 43 foot toyhauler and the SportChassis to a 36 or 38 foot 5th wheel and an F350. Still in the planning stage, no firm decisions yet on selling or trading.
  3. Daimler Smart uses a variant of the De Dion tube suspension. The rear wheel assemblies are mounted to the suspension tube by way of a fixed/welded bracket. The Engineers at Daimler designed the rear wheels to have a -2 degree camber for performance and handling. I wanted to try realignment for the same reasons as you, inside tire wear. After studying the design and Engineering of the suspension, I stopped looking at changes to the suspension and decided to simply flip the tires on the rims at about 50% wear to the inside tread bar indicator. These little cars are wonky enough on the highway, I didn't want to further compromise handling by altering the suspension that the German Engineers designed and tested.
  4. I get 44 to 48 mpg routinely. Last tank was 51 mpg, that was the highest I've ever had on my 2010 Smart (138k miles on the odometer). Tires make a big difference on my car. Continentals do better than Kumho's on mpg. I use K&N HP-1008 oil filters on the Smart. The same filter fits my Infiniti EX35 and my John Deere lawn mower. I order them from Amazon, a dozen at a time. Never have replaced the crush washer.
  5. It's nice to have your own machine/die shop to build what you need! 😀
  6. I just secured a policy for truck and trailer from State Farm in Tennessee. Thum Insurance had me with Blue Sky, then the non renewal came and Thum sent me a policy of same coverage for $500 more premium with National General. We decided to go shopping on our own and found a local State Farm agent that wrote a policy with the same coverage I had, for less cost than Blue Sky had last year. Granted, my wife spent several hours on the phone during over a several day period and I had several hours online in the evenings, but we came out better than I had expected. i just don't like going through 3 different business entities to get an Insurance policy. Last year I had Thum Insurance who went through Blue Sky who was underwritten by RLI. Too many middle-men.
  7. You'll be fine with either Kubota or Deere. I've had a Deere 3320 for 10 years and never had any need to go back to the dealer for any repairs. I used to go to the dealer to get filters, but I get them from Amazon now. Never had any problems from it. It has the E-Hydro transmission and a front loader. The two pedal E-Hydro is really nice when using the loader. My brother has a slightly smaller Kubota, with a front loader. He runs it on a very hilly area so he had smaller, wider tires installed to lower the center of gravity and widen the foot print. He really likes it and has had no problems from it. On my 3320 I use a 5 ft finishing mower, 5 ft brush cutter, 5 ft tiller, 5 ft box scraper or a 5 ft spike aerator. I would like to have a PTO generator, but my PTO output is a bit shy on horsepower to to run a generator of any good size.
  8. I had a Ford F-350 Crew Cab, short bed pulling a Keystone Fuzion 362. The RV had the relief cut front corners to improve the turning radius. I had a Reese slider hitch and failed to slide it one day. I turned too sharp and the RV kissed the rear of the cab. If you have a short bed (anything less than an 8 foot bed) spend a few extra dollars and get a slide hitch. You can get the expensive auto sliders or the manual type. If you get a manual type, just remember to use it or we'll have matching cab dents.
