Full timer RV Insurance

Recommended Posts

Help! We just received notice that Blue Sky will no longer cover RVs. We need to find a replacement company that works well for full timers and has liability coverage. We have an umbrella policy that will be invalid without liability coverage on either a house or an RV. Any suggestions?

Try some of these...

Miller RV Insurance

AIS RV insurance

RV Advanrage

Foremost Insurance

These are all independent agencies that sell insurance from any number of companies, except Foremost. Any of the first three could write you a policy with Progressive, National Insurance or any of the other companies that are well-known for RV coverage. All of them are specialists in fulltimer coverage.

Contact the above link for Miller Insurance and full-timer coverage and they'll find the cheapest policy for you. We've dealt with Miller for over 20 years and contact them every 3 years or so to again, find us the cheapest rate.

Interesting, as I have not gotten anything from them yet telling me that my coverage is ending. Could it be the state that you are in?

Blue Sky is in the middle of changing underwriters and it is causing them to not renew policies that are currently due because they don't have the new underwriter in place yet. It is a timing issue. Blue Sky's underwriter got out of the RV policy business unexpectedly and caught them off guard. There is information about this in another thread that explains it.

National Interstate. A+

Have Progressive on the car. They were cheaper the National Interstate. Have found out why. Have an ongoing claim with Progressive. Not happy with them right now. Maybe if they make things right in a few days this might change.

  • 3 weeks later...

I have Progressive that I bought online just recently. We are new to FT.

Tried going through a broker but had unsatisfactory experiences.

The first was Miller that has a good reputation on this forum. No return calls, days for an email response etc.....

The second was America's Best that was recommended by my PMB provider. Had to email and ask where my quote was after several days. It was immediately sent but some of the quotes were so basic and lacked detail it was impossible to compare.

I finally just went with Progressive myself. The quote was within a few dollars of the Miller quote.

Ironically Progressive will insure my home (RV) as a full timer but will not insure my car since I don't have a DL for South Dakota yet-or any other documents they accept proving I live in SD. Went with Esurance for the car.

I used Miller for several years, and jumped ship when the premium went through the roof, which made me unwilling to continue with the lack of return calls, agents messing up my quote/information, etc.

I'm also a Blue Sky orphan and decided to try Miller again. Called them today and got voice mail and chose not to leave a message and called other companies, instead.
