1. Jim & Sandie, on 25 Aug 2016 - 11:34 AM, said: We finally signed the closing papers on the house in Billings so no more drive way parking for us. Thank goodness. So happy for you! I know that feeling! Some people regret selling a home, but we have no regrets whatsoever! Enjoy being evn more stress free!! See you soon! Carol . .
2. Yep, it snowed here in Tucson last night, but it wasn't snowing or raining this morning. I loved seeing the snow on Mt. Lemmon. 15 of us went on the hike I mentioned above near Tubac, AZ, about 40 miles south of Tucson. It was 39 degrees but no wind. The sun came out and it was a beautiful day for a hike. The views of the snow on the mountain tops were gorgeous. But tonight will really be the cold one! Carol
3. Yep, Stanley and Paul, SNOW in southern AZ! What's up with that! Did we make a wrong turn somewhere!? We are in Tucson and they are calling for snow at 4-6,000 feet and above. When you can see it on the south side of Mt. Lemmon it is absolutely beautiful! Send me WARM wishes tomorrow as the RV park's traditonal New's Year Day hike in the desert will be early morining and between 30 and 40 degrees! But hey, where else can you hike in snow in the desert!? Carol
4. Sandie, sure hoping Jim's scan goes well!! Carol
5. Well, keeping our fingers crossed that all goes well with finishing up our 3 week stay in the repair lot tomorrow, we should be able to leave Sat. morning. Will probably stay at Case Grande for the weekend and be at Rincon West in Tucson on Monday. Sure hope we never have to go through that again!! Still have to just drive the truck back to Mesa for a few parts on the RV when they come in, and Doug can take care of those minor things. Whew! Hope the rest you guys are finding your nice warm spot for the winter! Carol
6. xnman, so wonderful for you! Hope you can now take that nice trip next year. Carol
7. Thanks Sandie, we enjoyed seeing you guys. Would be nice to get this topic going again to see where everyone is. We are "camping" in RV Renovator's lot here in Mesa going on 3 weeks while getting repairs done. Hope to be in Tucson for the winter after this week. Anyone else already at their winter destination? Carol
8. Gosh, I can't believe it is time already to be heading to Tucson for the winter again! We sure made a grand loop this summer! We are stopping in Mesa Nov. 1 for some repairs. $$$Ouch! Then on to Tucson. Today we head to Kanab, UT, to see some places we haven't seen before. We kept barely missing meeting with fellow SKPs! When are some of the rest of you going to be in southern AZ? Where will you be staying? Linda, hope you are getting better. Sandie, we will have to make some kind of plans to get together. What is your estimated date to be back in AZ? Carol
9. We are in Heber City, UT, until Oct. 14. Just avoiding the heat further south in AZ and enjoying the beautiful fall colors on the mountains all around us. Heber is just on the other side of the Wasatch Range from Salt Lake City, UT. We will probably stop in Page, AZ, because we love Lake Powell. Then will be in Tucson for the winter. We just missed a few fellow SKPs! Sounds like eveyone had a great summer. Carol
10. Well, we are leaving Tacoma (at the AFB) this morning and will be in Randall for 4 days to revisit parts of Mt. St. Helens we missed before. We keep changing our roving plans!! We may also revisit Mt. Ranier for the 4th time (I love the drive up there). We will be staying at Shady Furs. A great CG under the trees and nice folks that run it. Last time we learned a personal experience from the owner about Mt. St. Helens when it blew. What a story! We will be there for 4 days. Then we are going up to the SKP park in Port Townsend, WA. Just need a place to chill out again for awhile. Have been there before so we like the park. Plus the grocery store has Huckelberry ice cream. UMM! There are areas to explore from there. Anyone else there now or on their way? Jim & Sandy, wave to my relatives as you visit Lynchburg! Sorry we will miss you in MT. But will catch up with you in Mesa. May be having a bunch of work $$$$$ done at RV Renovators. I hate it but we do what we have to. This is way beyond what we can do ourselves I'm NOT going to the HH factory! So we will have plenty of time to visit. Carol
11. We are still at Park Sierra in Coarsegold, CA until the 15th. Gosh, but it is hot and dry! 100 all next week. Can hardly wait to leave. I am tired of all these fires! It is very scary. There are two that are still burning acording to this morning's news and no rain in sight. Sandie, lasso some of those rain/thunder clouds and send them over the mountains to us! Carol
12. Sandie, glad you had a fun trip back to Helena. I copied the driections above in case we, too, decide to come that way. Hope to see you maybe in August? Not sure yet when we will wind up some place.

We leave Monday and will skip going to Sequoia Nat. Park. Especially since a lot of the south part is burning! Scary! That is the 3rd fire in our area since we have been in Coarsegold! Will be somewhere on the coast by Wed. or Thurs.

Carol
13. We are still at the Park Sierra in Coarsegold, CA. This is one of our favorite of the SKP parks. It has been hot and we had some AC issues that Doug fixed. But we did explore Yosemite again in the back country this time, and drove a national scenic byway. We leave on the 24th for "not quite sure yet"! Today we get a free BBQ lunch with cake and ice cream for Father's Day and the June birthdays (that's me, although I have really stopped counting them!). Should be fun and the people here are just some of the nicest you would ever want to meet. We have had two wildfires, one 50 miles away & one 35 miles away. Scary! So those of you having rain, send us some! The drought this year is terrible. Carol
14. Sue, sorry we missed you! We are headed your way but not as far as AK. We will wind up in Port Townsend and may go to Jasper and Banff. So maybe we will be somewhere near you whan you return from AK. Have fun! Carol
15. May 24 to June 24, we are at Park Sierra in Corsegold, CA. We want to visit Yosemite again and Sequoia Nat. Park (haven't been there yet). But we will NOT go to Yosemite this memorial weekend. I can only imagine what the valley will be like! After we came thru Madera and turned towards Corsegold, it was already just steady traffic heading to Yosemite from that far away! Always nice to be in this park with fellow SKPs. Carol
