  1. Would you tell us who you use and the telephone # in Agodones? Thanks!
  2. What??????? Better explain this one.....we used 2 WS over 13 years. No problem with plumbing.
  3. Orca, I think you mean storing the WS for the winter. I couldn't find any info in the manual, so I called the manufacturer. I was instructed to leave the water in the unit and add 2 tablespoons of bleach to prevent bacteria while being stored. They assured me it would hurt the resin. Obviously don't let the WS hard freeze.
  4. Clay, one time we stayed for 6 weeks in the Ft. Collins, CO area.......I couldn't believe the water out of the tap was about 10 grain. We stayed there for 6 weeks and only did regen 1 time, unbelievable!!!! Don't find that often. I think Yuma has the hardest water in the US. about 70 grain IIRC. Our Travelsoft used solar salt (highly refined rocksalt).
  5. We used a Travelsoft for 13 years. Worked great. Sold it when we came off the road. I couldn't make the "on the go" to work more than a couple of days without a regen. They gave me my money back though. Frakco Travelsoft
  6. I've been told that lights work for a little while and the rodents get used to it as there is no change of scenery. If things are moved around every few days they are more effective. If that is true, then I'd think the flashing lights would be good because of the changing with the lights flashing off and on. Bet it'd drive the neighbors crazy though. Just sayin'.
  7. Swharton, we have the Whirlpool stackable in our rig for the last 6 years. They have become a bit better lately. The washer runs up the spin cycle to about 3500 RPM and really ring out the water. The clothes are only damp when the washer stops. Therefore the dryer doesn't have to work so hard (220 vs 110). Most stuff is dry in the dryer in 20 minutes. Just like at home (220V). So nice. I refused to get a W/D in the rig until the technology got better. We are happy with it.
  8. Regarding the FTing part of your statement, my bride was the one who wanted to do it. It took a little while to convince me to sell my $45K of tools and leave my shop. But she did and we've enjoyed 12 yrs. of FTing fun. We've slowed up a bit due to her health concerns, and will ultimately have to give it up someday soon, but what fun it has been. I have to pinch myself from time to time. We have been Blessed for sure.
  9. I have a friend that workamped in the FL Keys and he said they had 5 sites near the water that went for $197 a night in peak season.....no discounts!
  10. Forgive me if this has been covered already. We reregistered our vehicles a few months ago when we were out of state using the internet and bypassing the state inspection requirements. OK so now we are in TX and I ran out and got the state inspections. The inspector scrapped off the old/very outdated stickers and said you are good to go. Got to thinking about it and since now there are no "inspection" sticker on the windshield, a cop would have to run a registration to tell if you were current with your state inspection. And with us FTers are the exception to the rule and the vast minority, most have to get the state before the reregistration, the need for the LEO to check on state inspections would be minimal. Now it's not so easy to just glance at the sticker to see if you not in compliance. Hmmmm. Better chance of not getting a ticket as before, but if you got stopped for some reason, then you'd be in trouble. I'm I missing something here or I'm I thinking right? Of course, being compliant gives me a good feeling and I'm able to sleep good at night!
  11. FWIW. That's for registration renewal. Yesterday, I got a form letter telling me to get a state inspection first and mail it in. My registration renewal is due in April. No info on out of state procedure was given in the mailer. I called Polk DMV this AM and Mandy told to just go to the website and renew as usual. The first screen allows you to opt-out of the state inspection by being out of state and a RVer. Easy-peasy, like Jack said. No need for form VTR-272-B on renewal. Still needed on first time TX registration though. HTHs rockin'
  12. Jack, the state inspection was $34.? I thought it was like $15.00......sure has gone up. When I was doing state inspections as a young man in TX it was $5.00. Of course.....you useta buy hamburgers for a quarter too? rockin'
