Where will you land at the end of your travels?

Recommended Posts

Part of the adventure of being full-time is to be off-the-grid. Many, though,at the end of the day often think about having a more permanent residence. Here is a couple who created their own off-the-grid habitat. Wouldn't this be an interesting place to come at the end of your travels?

No appeal to me at this point in life because we are too dependent upon medical facilities and doctors to live out there. There was a time it would have looked attractive, but no longer. Consider what is must be like in January & February!

We will wind up right here at our S&B since we chose not to go Full time and went long time instead so we did not sell off our S&B.

We have a RV pad on the property which is the only reason we still have this S&B as it is way to big for just the two of us. When we no longer have the truck and 5th wheel we can downsize the S&B and be way ahead financially as we have big equity in the S&B, Money from the sell of the Rv and truck will help. That time is drawing near.

"...end of travels" will be ashes scattered on top of Engineer Mountain in Colorado! Will keep moving until then even if it's only a motorized wheelchair.

Be sure you check the capacity of that wheelchair, sometimes the dealers will sell you one that does not have the capacity tow, and stop, that downsized Scamp 5th Wheel:)!

Where for us? Check back in with me later, very hopeful I'll come back as one of my wife's dawgs... (I'll identifiable by the constant grin, and usually will be found on my back as she is lovingly scratching my belly... (Not a carry over from today!).

Best to all,

Hope she can afford it. They ain't cheap.

Agreed. But they can be wonderful! Were headed here next month: http://trilliumwoodslcs.com We'll start out in independent living then stay right through the rest of our lives. It costs a lot up front but they can never kick us out unless we become violent enough to be a safety hazard or develop some type of medical condition too severe for their health center to deal with. They do have memory care which takes care of one of our concerns. Plus, we can have another 2008-style financial meltdown but they can't kick us out. There's a lot of peace of mind knowing that. In the meantime, they have nearly everything I need under one roof so I never have to go outside into a Minnesota winter.
