I have a 2005 Newmar Mountain Aire with 2005 electronics for TV (Tracvision LF/SF) with VCR, DVD, CD player, Winegard antenna, and a couple of other boxes in the entertainment center cabinet over the drivers seat. I'm buy new TV's for main area and bedroom. Does any know of an AV shop that works with RV setups in the Houston area. All of this may be simple, but for the moment, I'm not seeing simple. Looking to replace TracVision with Trav'ler(since I have one on another coach I will be selling). Also only 1 older TV. Will be upgrading to flat panel TVs but want to upgrade A/V to todays technology. I know that as soon as I do that it will be outdated. So looking for the most current(do not read most expensive though, we're on a budget here). I am in So Cal now and looking for someone mobile that I can assist with the install so that I will know where and how things were done. Jimalberta Posted September 26, 2015 Report Share Posted September 26, 2015 What I did ( did it myself) was to remove everything when I decided to replace my old TVs. I had one of those switch boxes and with the new TVs you dont need that. I installed the new TVs front and rear and then connected all of the components directly to the TVs. The switch box was no longer needed as you can choose the input directly from the TV's menu. I found it greatly simplified things. My coach has surround sound throughout but I just connected that to my dash radio. The front TV I installed new speakers with a subwoofer so that the sound is only in the front of the coach. The rear TV is the same with its own sound. That way we can each watch what we want for OTA or cable. If we decide to watch a movie we do it together on the front TV. Innovative Coachworks, Junction City, OR comes highly recommended. Website is www.innovativecoachworks.com. They do work in SoCal during the winter months in the Palm Springs area. I had our coach completely upgraded with (2) new TV's and JVC radio with SiriusXM. Work wasn't cheap but reasonable for what you get. Used wireless technology for DirecTV and soundbar, which works great. Beats drilling through floors for cabling and saves on labor charges. fly2low Posted October 3, 2015 Report Share Posted October 3, 2015 I just redid my 2007 vintage RV. Pulled out the old Bose system, TVs, and Motosat unit. Put in 2 new TVs, a Marantz receiver, new DVD player, new speakers, and wired in a mini media PC with a NAS holding + 8k tunes, and a couple hundred movies. It really was not that hard, just very time consuming to get all the wires routed. I did have a prof install the Trav'ler. The Marantz acts as the old dumb switching unit.
