wzahnd Posted November 26, 2016 Report Share Posted November 26, 2016 I had a 1995 dodge 3500 dually, 230,000, miles and it was totalled the 2007 is my replacement and it is not a dually. The 2007 automatic 4x4 does not have an exhaust brake or gauges as my older one had. Just got it and wonder what it needs has tow haul but never used it. Pulling a 32 foot montana, tend to keep them a long time. Heading to Conoga park Simi valley any recommendations on where to have items installed. Had a BD exhaust brake it worked great. rbertalotto Posted November 27, 2016 Report Share Posted November 27, 2016 My 2007 Ram 2500 with 180,000 goes in next week for $12,000 worth of upgrades...new BD Tow/Haul transmission, BD exhaust brake, three new radiators, all new front end bushings with BD sway bar end links, new injectors....... Can't wait to see the difference the transmission and e-brake makes... Coming down mountain hills with a diesel....an exhaust brake is a MUST have in my book....no brainer.. Kevin H Posted November 27, 2016 Report Share Posted November 27, 2016 Walter - I cannot recommend an exhaust brake enough. Can't imagine being without mine. 2011 RAM 3500 - manual - all stock. Roy - That's a lot of upgrades. I love the idea of fixing what you love rather than dropping the many tens of thousands of dollars for the new stuff. Don't know if you have heard of these guys, but I talked to them recently. Liked what I heard. Will give them a strong consideration should I convert my manual to an auto in the future. WeBeFulltimers Posted December 4, 2016 Report Share Posted December 4, 2016 When I had my 2007 Ram 2500 5.9 I installed a PacBrake PRXB exhaust brake and it worked GREAT! I purchased mine from a seller on eBay and installed it myself. I really liked the fact that it was air operated and I was able to use the air for other things on the truck such as on-board air for my air bags.
