  1. Hey Emery, CONGRATULATIONS!! Good to see you hit the road for a while and enjoy DaKOtR as it was truly meant to be. Saw Hi to your beautiful DW and enjoy Florida. Ann says Hi also.
  2. Here you go Jack, have a few pics on webshots, you can get there by clicking on the one. Gene
  3. NO JACK, only an Anthem, and we do love it. Working on the pics, hopefully will post them in the next day or so.
  4. Met Larry and Billy on Sunday about 10 miles west of Salina on the Interstate, westbound. We were coming home (east bound toward Salina) at the time with our new Entegra motorhome. Larry, stayed in Oakley on Saturday night and called to leave you a note, figured you were traveling somewhere. Sorry we missed you, will try again the next time we are in the area. Had a great supper at the cafe next to the campbround. Lady at the registration desk said she knows you and would say hello for us. Gene and Ann
  5. Thanks Jack, hope you guys are doing well and having a good summer in the Rockies. We will definitely check out the steaks and see if they live up to their reputation! We love it here, planned to spend two days, have already stretched that to 4 and may not leave then. May spend a week or so and catch Kalispel on the next trip. PS---Jack, GREAT IDEA, GREAT STEAK, ATE THE WHOLE THING, miserable now but sure was worth it THANKS AGAIN for the tip, absoulutely one of the great steak houses in the country, you are absolutely right! Ann enjoyed it as much as I did, but had to bring half her staeak home with us, guess I will have to suffer another serving tomorrow!1 Gene
  6. We left home June 11, west to Alburqurque, northwest to Monument Valley Utah, west to Elko, NV where we spent a couple of days getting our windshield worked on to try to keep it from falling out! From there to Winnemucca, up through Oregon to Portland and on up through Washington to Grand Coulee Dam. Left there and got a big 118 miles to Couer d' Alene , ID today. Will spend a couple of days here at the Blackwell lake RV park then over to Kalispel for a few days before heading to the Dakotas and south back toward home. Over 3 weeks and 4800 miles but lots to see and do. SO MUCH TO SEE............SO LITTLE TIME.
  7. We are in Retama, trying to figure out what all the hoopla is about. Been here since Christmas day and the weather is COLD and RAINY, just plain LOUSY since we arrived, LOL, guess it will improve MAYBE. Seriously, this is a great park with very nice lots. Currently squatting on one of Jack's lots and it is REALLY nice. Just would like for the weather to at least ACT like it is south Texas instead of the cold north somewhere. Oh, well, had 10-14 inches of snow and 65 mph winds at home the morning after we left, so guess it is not so bad here after all. Gene
  8. Come on Rocky, you can tell the sex quick, clue--Look at the wheels. lol Sounds like you are having a great time in Colorado and making the Teton and truck"HOME". Enjoy, it dont get much better than that. Gene and Ann
  9. Ann and I are in Coeur d' Alene for a few days, spent several days in Twin Falls with Bob and Dianna Speckman. Headed to Banff and Lake Louise on Thursday. Beautiful country all over Idaho. Will be heading back home by the end of the month. Gene and Ann
  10. Speck, what will you be doing and WHAT are you doing back in cold weather??? LOL LOL Gene
  11. Mike, tell Pat to quit kicking you and her toes will stay in better shape. LOL Seriously, hope she heals quickly, Ann broke a toe this spring and it is not much fun. Gene and Ann
  12. Mark, great paint job, really gives a different look. We will be anxious to hear your report on how Jayco will treat us orphans also. Gene
  13. Looks to me like you have this figured out. If you can get a contract like that I would go for it. Two winters like that and you could upgrade to a very new truck!! Good luck. Gene
  14. I would think long and hard before using the truck commercially. First you would have to pay heavy road use tax($550), commercial tag(varies state by state, would cost over $1200) here, loose your motorhome status, file IFTA(international fuel tax agreement) reports and payments all just for starters. Most of these trucks will last us a lifetime the miles we put on them, however, if the truck goes back to hauling commercially the miles will pile up, and they will be much harder miles, leading to quicker and more severe breakdowns. Then there is the insurance issues, and if the lessee is not extremely careful he can drag the truk owner into all kinds of legal and troublesome situations. All that being said, if you are willing to deal with those issues trucking is profitable right now providing you get enough diesel surcharge. Sure can help pay the bills and be able to keep the truck in better shape. All in all it is a very personal decision based on how much risk you are comfortable with and how much money you think you can clear from the venture. I personally would sell the truck to a LLC to set up the business venture if I decided I wanted to do it. All just my 2 cents worth from dealing with trucks and truck drivers for years. Good luck no matter what you decide. Gene
