It's not the fastest paper to breakdown in all the unscientific test you'll find on the net, but it apparently breaks down faster than I can pull up my pants and run around the coach to pull the dump valve. We never used any chemicals in our tank... just water. We don't use any sort of chemicals in our tanks, just let the normal action liquefy things, as would happen in a septic system if allowed. But as long as you use enough water, even most home brew chemicals or commercial additives will not harm and may even help to mask the odor that human waste comes with. Some folks even try to sanitize their tanks, but soon after they sit down and poop into them. Makes me wonder if they also sanitize the waste system in their bodies? Make sure you put plenty of water and a touch of dish washing liquid into the tank. Drive and let it all shake up. Then dump as you do your hookups.
