Toilet Paper

We use the same Charmin Ultra in our RV we've used for years and have never had a problem. It's not the fastest paper to breakdown in all the unscientific test you'll find on the net, but it apparently breaks down faster than I can pull up my pants and run around the coach to pull the dump valve. :D

Welcome to the Escapee forums! Also your number seems to indicate that you are new to Escapees as well, so an extra welcome to the club as well. Consider this to be your Escapee hug!

We use Scott's, but any that is listed as "septic safe" should be fine as long as you are generous with the flush water.

Costco brand is excellent. As stated above, use plenty of water and you'll never have a problem. We never used any chemicals in our tank... just water.

Scott's septic safe. Great stuff. Cheaper than a lot of the other stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion. More water seems to be one of the keys.

That is the key to a happy waste tank. We don't use any sort of chemicals in our tanks, just let the normal action liquefy things, as would happen in a septic system if allowed. But as long as you use enough water, even most home brew chemicals or commercial additives will not harm and may even help to mask the odor that human waste comes with. Some folks even try to sanitize their tanks, but soon after they sit down and poop into them. Makes me wonder if they also sanitize the waste system in their bodies?

I occasionally flush mine out with alcohol. Wine seems to work well. :)

X2 on Costco "septic safe" - though finding places to put a box full can take some time.

Lol Barb.....Costco and RVing are kinda contradictory.

Wall Street Journal. Some say it's already full of .......

Seriously. Don't dump before you leave the campground. Make sure you put plenty of water and a touch of dish washing liquid into the tank. Drive and let it all shake up. Then dump as you do your hookups. All that driving will give you liquid waste.

Another vote for Kirkland (Costco) brand and always plenty of water.

We did our own test and would Not use Charmin in the rig.

Same for us. Costco/Kirkland is decent paper and breaks down quickly.
