  1. I was already familiar with Morefine as a little known manufacturer for other big name SSD brands and I picked up several of their 1TB 2.5" SATA SSDs to use as 2nd storage drives on my Dell micro 5080 i5 10th gen six core which I upgraded to a WD Black 1TB M.2 NVMe drive and one of those Morefine 1TB SSDs on the piggyback drive slot inside. The Dell micro is bigger than the Morefine but is still amazing how much they cram in there that runs cool and fast. This pic is the Dell5080 Micro with the M.2 already installed and the 32GB RAM under the fan which you can't see. This pic I took when I installed the 1TB storage drive in the blue carrier. The upgrades: And as the backup storage drive on my 24" Dell AIO touchscreen i7/2TB/32GB, in which I also installed a WD Black SN770 M.2 and an identical piggyback drive bracket filled with a Morefine 1TB SSD for a second drive 2.5" SATA like laptops use/used to use. I have upgraded my external drive cases from HDDs to SSDs and now have two M.2 NVMe drive enclosures that are screaming fast transfers as long as the computer is recent and has USB C and USB A 3.0/3.1/3.2 fast ports. The Morefine SSDs were so well done I didn't hesitate to try their M8s Micro computer. They even can play games in lower settings Here are two reviews, the first is a review in depth of the Morefine M8s I have, and the second is a review of the top five Micro computers using the newish Intel N100 processor. The only thing I can't upgrade is RAM as when they get this small it is soldered to the Motherboard. But the main drive and speeds cane tweaked easily. Morefine M8S review: Top five Micro N100 computers using the N100 processor and one is the Firebat with 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD is only $122! But it is from Ali Express which I hate using. I prefer Amazon or even TEMU over Ali Express, YMMV: In summary the micro computer have come of age and are great values for the average user. Hey it's my hobby and is way cheaper than any one of my old hobbies, Skiing/Scuba/Hunting, which I can't do anymore because - Old Fart. And no travel to play with tech toys before selling for some new toys.
  2. I just bought an LG TV and am really surprised at how good the picture is. If you want to turn the TV into an actual All in One computer I got one of these Morefine Intel N100 micro computers a few months back and thought that since you were talking having an old computer and replacing the monitor too since you already solved the monitor I'll put this review in because the micro desktop is perfect for that use in RVs for those so inclined, and take up zero desk space in most installations but that is up to the user. Morefine is making a micro computer with all the bells and whistles and the new faster small form factor replacement processor the Intel N100. I bought the 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD version. It comes with a bracket to mount on the back of TVs monitors, projectors. I screwed the bracket on. and hung it on the back of my 28" Monitor. It uses the latest SSD the M.2 NVMe drives and can be upgraded to a 1 TB SSD But it is cheaper and easier to just get a 512GB SanDisk USB A 3.1 drive. I use them on my Surface tablets that came with only 128GB or 256GB SSD. The inexpensive system: https://www.amazon.com/MOREFINE-M8S-Computer-Windows-Ethernet/dp/B0C99CNZSH/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2OTRK8CJXFIPE&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.1x8LMCxhfUfQXSsoJsb63i5XunrwOF2spKGGpXT17A9YnBgukx2WIaVWb1pOJhno.eMjW24-r3EwHiAD7V9UA9_81QkyAYNvYOUSZDH5IdCk&dib_tag=se&keywords=Morefine%2BM8&qid=1713656960&sprefix=morefine%2Bm8%2Caps%2C117&sr=8-5&th=1 Mine: I just put the standard size mouse in for size. It comes with all the screws and the bracket needed to mount it. It has a Power supply too that uses a USB C plug so don't think it has a USB C port from the pics. It has three very fast USB A 3.2 ports and HDMI etc. The top just pops off with my fingernails fairly easily and has plastic tits all around to hold it securely. You can see the 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD one screw and easily replaced or upgraded. There are loads of specs, pics of the ports etc in the Amazon link. My hand over the micro PC with the cover off, it is tiny! It can do 4k streaming and videos as well as anything I threw at it. I use a Logitech K400 combo keyboard and mouse and that is the USB you see inserted in the pics. I also use a Bluetooth speaker from WalMart, a $15 mini with a passive radiator on the back that makes it very pleasing for testing and using on the workbench. I have medium size hands and it fits in the palm of my hand, literally. It boots fast has great graphics and is very peppy even six months later. I have no idea why it has two Ethernet ports but it has strong WiFi 6 radios and works great anywhere in the house. To me it is the best bang for the buck for non-gamers - great for streaming/email/music/surfing. And the Logitech K-400 can be used from anywhere in the room. These pics were when I first got it so have a Soundlink Mini I replaced with a Soundlink Flex upstairs and the Onn Wally World one I use on the workbench now. I thought it might be helpful to you and others looking for a cheap and easy way to upgrade computers in an RV. You can mount the unit on the wall or the TV/monitor, but I would prefer easy access to use and remove USB devices and keyboard USB dongle etc. and cables for HDMI or Ethernet easily, instead of a major removal and reinstall each time. I will be putting it behind our new six months ago 75" Quantum dot nano cell LG TV next. The TV also ls a a high recommend for a stix n brix.
  3. Linda and Glenn, they also have to take into account the state of the art systems that use much less power or use it in new ways. Look at the storage capacity of the batteries versus the 12 volt/six volt battery AGM versus other types of batteries versus these dedicated battery packs with very large energy density. I don't even remember what we had in our first 1990 rig for holding and fresh but it was a lot less than our second rig we only had for a year or two then sold. But we could go a week easily on our fresh and holding tanks. I believe we had 50 fresh and 30 black and 20 gray or some such. However we did overflow the gray once and it backed up into the shower drain! With their combined black and gray I hope they have a holding tank back-flow preventer valve of some sort. Regardless I find the actually new systems instead of the same old reefers. roof A/C units, big Propane furnaces and water heaters, very interesting. A friend of mine who repaired and sold used cars once remarked that there is an a** for every seat, meaning one size does not fit all. Lots more info here: "WARNING! This New RV Will DESTROY The Entire RV Industry! (Pebble Flow)" Wow this video shows a bunch more from an experienced RVr.
  4. Rod did you figure out what you are doing with that yet? Sorry I don't frequent these forums much anymore so just saw this.
  5. Sorry to hear Pam is not doing well. I hope you guys are set now. Yes we want to get another truck and drove the Ford F-150 Lightning XLT extended range and it is awesome! We can't fit it in our too short garage. They brought one to our house and Lynn drove it after I did at the dealership. She is as enthusiastic as I am and wants to move and get one so we don't get to be your age with four flights of stairs in the house like we have now counting the basement stairs.
  6. YW Ray. Pretty significant improvement over the old systems in my book too.
  7. Kirk the prices were in the videos for both with or without motors and just battery packs to run the systems. No generators no noise either and 25% battery charging on sunny days for the Pebble Flow's built in solar roof.. Airstream partnered with Porsche on a battery powered Trailer/RV trailer. NO prices yet However Pricey is in the eye of the beholder. Just for comparison Airstream trailers without the batteries and with old fashioned propane and other systems identical to all the rest cost $100k and up. Flying Cloud® 28RB Starting at $117,500 The 28 foot Pebble flow with all the advanced systems starts at about the same and the larger L1 is just a bit higher. But for about $20k more motors can be added for all shown in the videos. When you find that Airstream price with Batteries and self-propelled versions I'd be interested in seeing that. Here is their page. https://www.airstream.com/configurator/tt/ BTW I just did an about face on the Ford EV Lightning. I test drove one last Friday and was impressed. the extended range XLT with everything we want is $52k before TT&L He brought it to our home to see if it could fit in the garage and no way with this house. With the hail here annually our cars are in the garage. So we are pricing Carport designs and checking the permitting and if allowed. We pretty much wanted to move anyway to a Ranch with no stairs and a much bigger garage, three car this time.
  8. Same here Glenn. Aerodynamic does look different than a flat front acting like a sail. Saves some fuel or battery charge depending on the tow Vehicle.. I like the complete autonomy to boondock for up to seven days using heat or A/C, inductive cook top, coffeemaker, al at once without carrying any propane, or generators. I really liked the office desk in the Pebble Flow prototype that turns into a Murphy bed with no hassle. no curtains with glass that goes opaque at a touch of a switch. All for the price of a top tier Airstream trailer. I may take several years but with or without motors the modern appliance designs and forward thinking use of solar and batteries is amazing Especially the motors handling braking without brake controllers, and taking care of sway and braking on a hill within the motors themselves. It's all pretty new to me. I had to add a transfer flow diesel tank in the bed of my Ram 1 ton long bed dually to get the original range off load when towing. No more backing in and how about that magic hitch automatic hitching up?? 😮👍😉
  9. Soon two new RVs are coming that have their own motors and are self-propelled so no reduction of range of any tow vehicle gas or electric. I believe they will redefine how RVs are built and come with and without motors. But the heating, cooling, cooking systems are radically new. No drapes because the windows go opaque at the touch of a switch. The stabilizers and steps all are automatic – just too many new inventions and design improvements to mention. Worth a look at what I consider the first improvement in RV systems in decades. Pricey too. Already beginning production now - The L1 Lightship is taking orders already. It is also an all-electric RV that powers itself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_8W4keDWb0 Here is the newest one, The Pebble Flow: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qmk5lCaPvII We towed a 36 foot 5h wheel RV for seven years of full-time living with a 1992 Dodge Ram 1 ton Diesel Dual rear wheel long bed diesel truck. It got almost 20 mpg with no load but dropped to 10mpg when the heavy trailer was being towed. So diesel and gas vehicles will lose a lot of range towing as well as EV cars and trucks, depending on the load weight and size. But those trailers had no engine or solar, just the old fashioned RV 5th wheel. The Pebble Flow above is in prototype so may be another two years before it comes to market.
  10. Ting fiber to home is coming here and it will be a year or so until they do, so we are keeping our current provider which is cheaper than all available today at $15 a month unlimited with some military retired DV discounts. They have an offer for areas they are going into with fiber for unlimited lines at $10 a month which includes unlimited hotspots using Verizon towers. If you winter or own property where they are coming soon you can get that offer here: https://internet.ting.com/mobile-offer We have had their service for both of our phones and the hotspot works very well. But since we already have Internet we have not tested the limits. But our phones are both from Verizon MVNOs and we buy our phones cash. We have had the service for about a month on our two phones and they are perfect. I even asked if I could use my hotspot for my almost a TB of streaming and Internet and they said yes. They have great customer service by phone which I prefer M-F 9-5 I think. So for fulltimers without a home base this may not be an an option. We are tickled pink with them and their customer service. I paid a $9 pre-order for Ting fiber and qualified for the $10 unlimited mobile service. No other charges until our Fiber comes in and it is added to the bill. We plan to get it as soon as it is available to our house. We are free to choose another service as it is not a contract and our service will revert to their mobile fees.If we do that we will need another mobile service provider. I can' wait for the 1TBPS download and upload speeds (Synchronous)instead of our current 150MBPS speeds down and 20 MBPS upload speeds. It will make a heckuva difference in everything especially our 4k streaming.
  11. If you buy a stationary permanent dwelling be that RV park model, RV shed expansion garage where you park your RV and have expanded living space or whatever, should it be a lease or rent, or whatever where you don't actually own the property, then if they raise the rates or upkeep goes by the wayside if increased fees justified or not are charged, well then you can't move to another park without having to sell at whatever the market will bear. IMO the best way to accomplish a permanent tiny home kind of deal would be to own the property and zoning restrictions on RVs alone are prevalent in many communities. And then the property taxes may go up and up and other taxes rise.
  12. It's been exposed as a scam since 2022. Search: "Is the Alpha heater a scam" Here's one result of many. Don’t Get Duped by Viral Alpha Heater Scam – Read this- https://malwaretips.com/blogs/alpha-heater/
