  2. We are looking at options for class c rv's. I have researched the pros and cons for gas vs diesel but I cannot find anything that compares engine noise. We had a 2006 gas class A many years ago and the engine noise was horrible. I know dp's are much quieter because the engine is in the back, but what about a class C? Both types of engines are in the front, so, is one quiter than the other?

  4. Maybe that's in hopes of keep us itinerants out of California? Linda
  5. The big black box used to live on the Gold Truck where the front axle used to be. With the White truck having both I needed to find a new place for it. Before I left for the HDT Rally I found it would fit in the box with the Motorcycle, so I strapped it down for the trip. Pondering all winter on what to do with it. I mounted a small vice to it and maybe I'd already mounted the Montezuma Tool box to it before leaving Iowa too. Anyway earlier this month I thought of mounting it to the inside of the box at "Workbench height.". The box has a couple rails built into the walls for "E" Track and I looked at multiple hardware locations before buying some carriage bolts. First ones too small, but would fit into the groove easily. Went to 1/2 inch and all I had to do was grind off two opposite sides and it would turn into it like a "T" and the 1/2 inch shoulder fit the slot almost perfectly . Cut up a chunk of old implement tire I had and made a 4inch long bumper to hold the bolt in place and provide some vibration dampening (Maybe). So far it feels very secure in it's position, but going down the road on it's first road trip will b the test. The last photo with the Craftsman tool box and a scrap of Angle Iron is an idea to mount the Angle under the box for more support. At one point I thought of putting a wooden support, but not sure that would be necessary and would rob me of some storage under the box. What have I done wrong or maybe didn't think of? Rod
  6. I'm not in California. It is easier for manufacturers to print one warning label that satisfies the legalities of a product in all the places it is going to be sold. Thus, here in Texas we are blessed with Prop 65 warnings.
  7. The county's plan is to limit traffic for now. Once a determination is made on what to do to repair or even replace the bridge (yes, that's a possibility) then they may blacktop that section so that the road will last. Gunnison will have severe impacts from this. Already the state has closed the DMV office. There is another bridge that has the same T1 steel that they haven't inspected yet. If they close that one also that takes CR26 out of the picture since CR26 is between the 2 bridges. Crazy times.
  8. Since this is a destination trailer//park model, where is it located? What is the monthly park rental cost? Typical utilities bills?

  11. Isn't this how life goes, you have lane and highway closures for several years a maybe 15 miles west. That project is winding down at this time, I believe Those possible detours are graveled but many miles of dust and wash-board in the months ahead. A good chance to made those Toll roads giving locals a free pass and others a $XXX.xx toll. Clay, My suggestion to limit traffic.
  12. New Price: $17,350 Send me an email if you have any questions.
  13. The EPA can not levy criminal fines but it can take states to court and win civil fines. While the EPA generally lets the states administer air pollution programs to meet the standards it can overrule or take over the programs if it is not satisfied the targets are being met. Personally I would like to see Texas take a page from Colorado where gas engines are only required to take emissions tests in certain counties whereas diesel engines are required to statewide. Maybe it would get rid of all these folks that think giant exhaust pipes blowing massive clouds of black smoke is fun.
  14. Many times these warnings, whether there is cause for concern or not, are at the behest of the lawyers thanks to our litigious society. It seems like virtually anything that is sold in California carries a Prop 65 warning which we all see no matter where else we are.
  15. I'm so happy to report Tuna came back on Saturday and just passed her post walk-a-bout in the wild Vet exam. I was told I am a very lucky Cat Person. Thanks to my Daughter in reminding me to apply the "Tick and Flea" medication right away to both Cats and I also gave them their first "Heart Worm" meds for the season. I'm not on the search for the right "Collar" that will accept some sort of a 'Tracking' device. I am less than happy with the "Microchip". The reader has to be within a few millimeters of the implant to pick it up. Does not help at all with finding a lost animal. Only if they are turned into an Animal Shelter or taken to a responsible Vet Clinic and are scanned. I don't think "Pet Link" is informed about the scans unless there is a question about ownership of the pet. None of the Vet's have verified the address I have listed for my Pet's because it's always different from what I give them as my personal address. Will never pay for a Microchip implant again. Rod
  16. Yep, the link works now. I sort of miss my Mini at times, but the Jeep loads much easier. I also can't to a dark colored car. ' Good luck with the sale. Rod
  17. Loss of federal highway funds, true but not fines, or at least none were ever reported in the Dallas area. Can you share some sort of documentation about those fines? Highway money is a pretty good hammer and is used by Congress over states quite frequently.
  18. Semantics. The Federal government EPA sets the air quality standards and then delegates the responsibility of enforcement to the States. Texas, for example, was threatened with fines and loss of fed money if they didn't comply. Before they could build out all the emissions testing stations, some counties were removed from the mandate because of new pollution data.
  19. I use a Y however I have it is after the water filter. The water filter with it's flexible hose is connected to the parks water, then the pressure regulator and then the Y. Just last week I replaced my regulator with one I bought new 3 years ago. I noticed on the package it said "Lead Free" but on the back warning label it said it may contain lead. 🙃 My Y is brass.
