I'll have to crawl up under the slid and give it a shot of White Grease Which they say don't do but that's the only way I can get it to work.

Have you tried those dry silicone sprays? They lubricate without becoming dust catchers.

We haven't had rain since early May. The Forrest Service has put a Stage 1 fire restriction on the San Juan. The only campfires allowed are in firerings in campgrounds, and we look for them to stop all fires excpt in gas stoves pretty soon if it dosen't rain. We are doing good, Hope all ya'll are all having FUN!!! It's been pretty cool here, jackets in early morning and late afternoon, glad we are not in Texas.:P Glad Parker is better. Everyone stay safe.

Hello All! I feel like I've been in Exile!! Lots happening with us. Finally sat down and read back a few pages. I had to re enter my user and password. As I write this, a crew is washing Betsy... we are a big dirt ball from all the desert blows. After the deer event we found a body shop in LVegas. They took off the bumper (whole front) of the car. We were ok to drive to Pahrump. Yeah right. Ended up along the road... DH ( MacGyver) with a piece of rope and screwdriver anchored the wheel well guard after it got a hole in it! The rest of the 42 miles at 35 mph was no picnic. Now we have to drive the 70 + miles back the same way! Tomorrow we get it put back together. Will leave here before 6 am. :{ The triple digit heat is here for the duration...no rain in sight. I'm sooo ready to go north. If I can talk DH into it, we will pull out before our month is up, which is Monday, but not likely. Monday where we are stopping is suppose to be 109. I'm getting de ja vous from last year! YUK> Toni, so sorry bout Parker. Hope he's a better guy now. (((Hugs to you all))) IYQ...take care of yourself...don't head too far west....the heat, fires and storms will get ya!Freddy and Delcie probably could use some company though! We are on being wowed with some sights we haven't seen before. I'm ready for some cool and damp! I'm going to stay in and update my blog today! No real reason to be outside at this point. Life will be better when we get the car back together!

As Always,

You're looking for damp and cold? I think I've found it for you. If you're heading this way in search of that, it might just be warmer and dryer by the time you get here. However, I must admit those triple digit numbers are worse than this. You can only take off so much much without being arrested for very indecent exposure. B) With cold a damp you can always put on a sweater. Let us know your ETA.

Jerry and Janice just left to go back to Georgia. We went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and had a nice long talk. Janice has really turned into a carving Pro. Her work is very good. I hope she branches out and trys several different forms of carving. She's good at it. They have a beautiful piece of property up here where they park their RV. A beautiful small lake right beside them where a stream has been dammed. Thick Hardwood forest all around. They offered to let me bring my trailer over and stay awhile. It was very tempting but I decided that I'd better get across the center of this country before the dog days of late July and August set in. Those western mountains may be a little warmer than the hills of the east but they are dry and the days don't heat up until late afternoon. If I break out sweating in the southwestern mountains, all I have to do is head a little farther north to get the weather I want. I'll be pulling out again in the morning headed west or northwest what ever fancies me when I get to the turn off in Nashville. Right now I'm thinking west to Northern New Mexico but a few hot days and forest fire smoke could convince me to go north from there.

We are in Helena until Saturday. Had a couple of absolutely gorgeous weather days but may get some rain tomorrow. Rain is fine - I just don't want hail and wind. Jim is doing amazingly well. Still gets tired and short of breath, but I make him take lots of rest breaks. He had hoped to get some fishing in while we are here but I don't think the weather is going to cooperate.

Really.... Keep Freddy and Delcies location in mind for a while. Think those forest fires in New Mexico are bad and the one up in Colorado by Fort Collins is horrid! Denver is enveloped with smoke! Travel safe... We stayed there and dined at the #2 Cracker Barrel last summer about this time. Great area.

If it gets smoky, I'll head into the wind and eventually I'll be in clear air. Of course I might be in the Pacific Ocean also. Yes, I am thinking about dropping in on Freddy and Delcie. I want to find out where he's finding all that GOOD in life. I'll have to contact him and get the GPS location of that campground.

I haven't moved our pen, because I got a new computer and didn't get all the info. changed over.

We only get email when we go to town (every two weeks) or ride our bike's across the road and up the hill.

I went 214 miles down the road this morning and ended up at Parkers Crossroads, TN. The traffic going through Nashville was a parking lot. We creeped along at about 2 miles per hour all the way through the city. I don't know what caused it except too much traffic for road conditions but I'm for building a bridge over the city.

The weather was nice all day but I was getting tired about noon and stopped at Parkers Crossroads, TN (I-40 Exit 108) The Parkers corners RV park is north on Hwy 22 a little over a mile. The park has just about everything you'd ever want including free WiFi. It don't look as polished as some parks but despite the rolling terrain the sites are mostly level. They put a slight crown in the drive of all sites so you can move one way or the other to get level. I just pulled in and hooked up the electric. the trailer was very level so I didn't even put down the jacks or tongue jack. That way I'll be ready to hit the road without putting away a bunch of wet accessories and getting myself any dirtier than I already am. The weather is sunny at 82 degrees but I turned the AC on to keep the rig at 75 degrees. Tomorrow I'll find a place where I can stay through the weekend and resume my travels next Monday. It will probably be somewhere just East of Little Rock,AR

I'm parked near the pool so I can watch all the activity. They let the locals use the pool so there are lots of young bodies. I'll have to wear my FBI cap. (Female Body Inspector)

Moving day. Yes we moved into the park today, to the Park Host (ess) site. So pretty. I will post pictures on the blog later. And the outlaw Wi Fi is much stronger.

Park is beginning to fill up and we have quite a few reservations for the weekend. That's good, more campers, more work. We are keeping busy but want more $$ hours.

Parker is a little off today but continues to eat. Occasionally even dog food.

Doug counted the other day 85 days until we leave the park and then a month after that we will be southern bound again.

Hugs.

When I got to the place I was going to stop this afternoon, the place was a mess. I still felt pretty good and it was early so I drove another 100+ miles to Russellville, AR. The park is gravel roads and sites but looks well maintained. It's just far enough off the interstate to be fairly quiet at night but close enough for easy access. Now all I have to do is make up my mind whether to stay until Sunday or take my chances on getting a site at Fire Lake Casino on the weekend. Steve Let me know if you are going to be close enough for me to bum some Cranberry Juice and maybe a free Meal. I'll check the Forum later tonight to see if my scheme worked.

I know Steve will hide all the Cranberry juice and the Ice Cream Machine so I'll play possum here for a few days and he'll think I just went right on by and get it all out again. Then I'll show up Sunday or Monday and have a ball. Seriously (??? Moi???) I've decided to let the weekend get out of the way. That could be a busy time at Fire Lake and I'd have no place to park. So I'll come in next Week and drink up all your Cranberry Juice. I hope you have a good supply I tried to restock at Wally World this morning and found that this is a Dry County. It's 88 degrees and muggy. Yuck. I'm glad I did all the outside chores this morning while it was a little cooler. I walked around in Wally World until my legs (and wallet) gave out just to stay in the cool store.

If Steve's team loses - he will have drunken all the cranberry juice before you get there. Probably will if they win too.

Hey, Lee, I'm having oral surgery Monday, so I won't be in too good a shape for a couple of days, but I'll be able to tell lies and watch you drink the juice. We're supposed to pull out of there Thursday Morning heading for Kansas City and our son's machinists competition starting Sunday and lasting until Wednesday. Then we head out North to Milwaukee.

Yeah, Toni, we didn't get the win on Thursday, so now we're one and one. Next game in Miami. Going to be a tough one, but we're "all in" on this team!!! GO OKC THUNDER!!!! Steve
