Beautiful spot but really lonely out there by ourselves. Lake is really pretty and we will stay here a couple of weeks before heading home to Chillicothe, Mo. Then on to Mesa for the early winter and then ? GREAT time at Hutch seeing long standing (not old!) friends and making some new ones too. Already looking forward to the next one and the east coast rally too. I guess being around Rick made some of his habits rub off on me - stepped in a hole in the asphalt here at the resort and twisted (only I hope) my ankle & back so now I'm hobbling around like a half rung chicken! The only busy spot was St. Louis, and even that was not too bad. I really enjoyed meeting all the folks and putting faces to names. We hope to make the next one, and the ECR as well. kingskids Posted October 26, 2011 Report Share Posted October 26, 2011 Sitting in a snow storm in Canon City, CO to take care of the boat (winterizing) and getting the head run on the truck before going home to the mountains for the rest of the winter. Hoping the house sells soon and we can get all our "stuff" sold so we can be foot loose and fancy free soon - living the life on the road. Been snowing all day so far (about 4-6" at this point in time). Hope by the weekend when we get back home that the driveway is clear so we can get everything all set up for the "real winter". You lucky dogs wintering in warm places... One day we'll be doing it too... For those who didn't make the rally, we hope to see you next year in Hutchinson, KS, or at the east coast rally in TN in April... Should be more great fun! Learned a lot and had a great time putting "some" faces to the names here - needless to say, didn't meet everyone yet - but over time... Safe travels all... Got the truck taken care of in Indy @ Andy Mohr Ford/Volvo. busy facility they have 28 bays and 2 shifts. The fix was more than I cared for but less than I expected, such is life at times. Its been a month in Sidney I would mostly rather forget, so its great to be back on the road finally. K and the mutts flew home on the 16th already so I'm on my own this time. Planning on heading from WA down to SLC, then across I-80 to Indiana. Drop the trailer there for some work and then head home bobtail. Really sorry we missed the rally, but next year for sure. Getting to drive a HDT was a highpoint for us. Thanks to Jack and Walker. We made it back to Cowtown RV Park in Aledo, TX with no problems. RickW passed us twice on the way down. Got the first cataract replaced on Monday and normal sight is returning to that eye. Doctor says I should pass my next DL eye test without glasses. Now for the big news. We ordered a 41 ft New Horizons Majestic from Phil Thursday and a new Volvo HDT from Wayland. We are really excited! Hope to be able to show them off at the east coast rally next spring. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. When does everyone think you'll get your rv and truck? I bet you can't wait, and we hope you love both truck and trailer for many years - can't wait to see them both in TN! Well, we arrived in CO to a snowstorm on last Wednesday, we sat it out in Canon City before heading up to the mountains, had a week of great weather, and here it is Wednesday again, and we got hit with another snow dump. Looks like it might be a snowy winter this year. Sure, wouldn't you know it, we wintered in Canon City last winter to be close to mom and out of the snow - and that year, home only got like 6 inches of the white stuff all year. Here we are home one week and we've already doubled that number - uggghhh! Hope we get tons of stuff sold so we don't have to do this again next winter! Safe travels all!
