trailertraveler Posted July 21, 2017 Report Share Posted July 21, 2017 I am in a somewhat similar situation. Still using Streets and Trips even though it is no longer updated by Microsoft. I can however still update the data sets for campgrounds and other points of interest. I have downloaded Garmin Basecamp and figured out how to import the map from the GPS. There is a option to do that in Garmin Express. In Express click on your device (it may need to be connected), click on "Map Options", then "Install to Computer". If you have already used the computer to install the maps to the GPS the process doesn't need to re-download the maps. All BaseCamp users should always use Garmin Express and select the Map Option to install the new Maps the the GPS and the Computer. That way they are always the same. I put all start & stops, fuel stops etc in favorites on the iPad. iPad is mounted on drivers side window & Laptop with S&T running on table beside drivers seat. When they disagree on which way to go. I decide what is best. IMO it is not as good as Street Atlas, but close.....and some of the things I like better. I've never tried importing waypoints.....
