Dirtjet
I'm interested in a used Coach. It's a 2008 Country Coach with a Cat C9 engine and a Cat transmission. I've never seen a motorhome with a Cat transmission, only Allison transmissions. Does anyone have any experiences with a Cat transmission. I don't have the model number but it has a three stage exhaust brake and two overdrives. It is considerably larger than an Allison 3000 transmission. The owners manual has a picture of both transmissions. I'm worried if I have problems on the road, it may be harder to service versus an Allison. Any advice would be appreciated. NoDirectionHome
The CX28 is your model I believe. No personal experience but the consensus is; Built like a tank but very firm shifting which is good for transmission life, but if you want a car-like feel... not so good.
