HERO Maker
Since you are talking about buying New or Nearly New, with those kind of $$ you might consider a Big Truck, HDT. Have you looked in the HDT section of the forum? Not a problem carrying lots of fuel with one of these. Not a problem if you decide to later change out your current 5th wheel for a much larger one. You might just take a look. And talk about control. You don't even know the trailer is behind you. And I'm pulling 24K! Just a thought. gjhunter01
If you are considering a HDT, do your home work to make sure it fits your life style. You are talking big $$$ and a whole different ball game from a pickup truck style. Also don't be fooled by the comparison of a new PU to a used HDT in terms of $$, if you are pricing a 2010 HDT than also compare price to a 2010 PU, not a 2017 PU. weaverworks
No way do I want a HDT. As stated in my original post.... I think my dually is too big. I wish I could comfortably use a short bed pu. Alie&Jim's Carrilite
Our first Carrilite had the straight front cap. We towed it with short bed Dodge. After taking out a rear window backing into an offset campsite I bought the Superglide Pullrite. It worked great. Our pin on the Carrilite was directly under the front edge. Take a measuring tape. Have someone hold the end at the center of your pin. Measure out to the front corners and add 5-6 inches. That's how much room MINIMUM you need from the center of the hitch to the back of the cab of a short bed. The Superglide wasn't cheap but it was a great hitch Alie & Jim + 8 paws 2017 DRV Memphis BART- 1998 Volvo 610 Lil'ole 6cyl Cummins
